How to convert TS to dvd format

A TS file, here it means a transport stream video format based on MPEG-2 part One, rather than a DVD folder with Video_TS and Audio_TS in it.

TS is used in broadcast applications such as DVB and ATSC. Having the ability of multiplexing digital video and audio and synchronizing the output, TS also offers the features for error correction for transportation over unreliable media.

Put those terms aside, how to convert TS to DVD for playback on DVD players is a big problem for many DVD lovers. Because TS–the HD video format is not supported by many DVD Creators that a TS-to-MP4/AVI conversion is needed before burning TS video to DVD. Here we show you the weay to burn TS video to DVD.

Step 1: Play TS files on PC

The easiest solution is VLC player which you can find and free download from the internet. VLC player can play MPEG-2 video content and supports opening and playing TS files directly.

Step 2: Download Aimersoft DVD Creator and install it

Meanwhile, you can insert DVD -R (DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, etc.) into DVD burner(DVD optical drive).

Note: The DVD burner should have writing and recording functions.

Step 3: Add TS video files

Click “Load Video”, a window will pop up for you to browse your computer and load TS video files from your hard drive. Multiple video files could be added at a time.

Optional: double click a loaded TS video to play it in the right window.

Drag and drop loaded TS videos to storyboard below to make further operation.

Step 4: Convert TS to DVD directly

If you don’t want to make any customization, of course you can convert TS to DVD directly.

Convert all TS files in the storyboard to DVD: simply click the “Burn” tab, and a window will pop up for you to select converting TS to DVD disc, DVD folder or ISO, etc.

Convert just one TS video file to DVD: select it in the storyboard, then click “Burn”.

Step 5: Start burning DVD

Burn TS to DVD disc: Click “Burn”, select “DVD” option in the “Burn to” field, specify a temp folder (used to save the generated temporary files), select your DVD drive and burning program (either built-in or your own burning application), select your TV Standard and output Aspect Ratio, and click “Start” to burn your project.

Burn TS to ISO or DVD Folder: Click “Burn”, select the “DVD Folder” or “ISO file” option, specify a folder on your hard disk to save generated DVD files, then click “Start” to start converting MTS, M2TS to ISO or DVD folder.

TV Standard: “NTSC” is 30 fps, which is used in USA, Canada and Japan; “PAL” is 25fps, which is used in Europe and Asia.

Note: The used disc space is shown on the disc space bar underneath the storyboard; The output quality is also up to your choice, you may select “Low video quality”, “High video quality” or “Highest video quality”. (The higher the quality, the bigger the video size.)

Part 2 : Tips about Aimersoft DVD Creator:

1.Edit TS video clips and organize a slideshow

Order: You can sort the order of the TS video files in the storyboard by drag and drop.

Add a slide: Right click mouse in the left area of the storyboard, and select “Add Slideshow”, then you can add other TS videos to this slideshow.

Edit: Select a TS video in the storyboard, click “edit selected video file”, you may see a window with a box below for settings. There are five tabs here for you to crop the size, to trim the length, to adjust the video effect, to design your watermark and to plug-in subtitle.

Transition: Click “Transition” and you will see the available 60 transition effects in the transition pane. Just drag and drop the transition effect you want to apply to the middle of two TS video files in the slideshow storyboard. If you don’t want transitions, just select it and right click mouse, select “Remove”.

2. Customize DVD menu

Click “Menu” to view 32 menu templates. There are different styles of built-in templates, frames and buttons for your choice. To apply a template, frame or button, you can just double click it. You can even add text, background music and background image from your hard disk to customize the menu.

3. Preview video slideshow

Click “Preview” to preview your slideshow. This step is to help you decide if everything is what you have expected. If not, you can go back to any of the previous steps to make changes to your project.
