85Wh Lithium-Ion 9Cell Latitude D820 Dell battery review

As we all know, the Latitude D820 is higher than the thin and light 14 “widescreen D620 and the budget oriented 14″ standard aspect Latitude D520 battery in the lineup. The D820 is an updated version of the latitude D810 battery and features the Intel Core Duo processor to replace the D810 Pentium M and a significant weight reduction in the D810.

As its big wid screen, so the latitude d820 battery is also can not afford its 3 hours daily work. The first year I bought D820, I used the battery frequently as work and travel, fortunately it died after 10 moths in the dell 1 year warranty. I do not know why the machine is 3 year warranty but the battery is only 1 year warranty. Now I know, after the 3 year used 3 batteries replacement (the second year I buy a Macbook for travel). Now I find some reivew about Dell latitude d820 battery.

I bought 2 types Dell latitude D820 battery : 6Cell and 9Cell. I do not want to say anything about my bad 6 Cell battery (the one died after 10 month). Below is the 9Cell 85Wh batetry photos.

I have run through three laptop batteries in four years on the D820. Only use is CPU and HD, never DVD. Typically charge starts to drop off in 9-12 month time frame to the point that unit will not run on battery for even 1 minute. This is totally unacceptable; by comparison original Mac batty still going strong after several years. Bye, bye Dell – you have ignored this user-expensive issue for years.

I’ve been a loyal Dell user for years. However, the next laptop I or anyone in my family or circle of friends buys is most likely going to be something other than a Dell. Why? Because if Dell consciously ignores this abundantly-documented laptop battery life problem, who knows what self-serving obsolescence might be built in to newer Dell laptops? This battery fiasco is one of the easiest ways for Dell to lose loyal customers who consistently seek out high-end products because of their requirements for quality and reasonable product life cycle

I purchased 2 extended batteries with my new Latitude D820. Both batteries failed within 1 year. This is not acceptable for items of this cost. If they are this unreliable they should be covered under the extended warranty

Lasted about 14 months the died completely like my Latitude D620 battery. Just made it out of warranty. I guess there was clause in my extended 3yr warranty that the battery is not covered.

This battery, while appearing to be the same size as the Dell original, is just a few millimeters off. As a result, my battery rarely charges.The battery can be docked, but the metal connectors in the battery are not (sufficiently) touching the pins in the system to charge the battery.

To resolve, I have to do everything from jiggling the battery to completely removing & resetting it. Even then the problem is not guaranteed to go away. Finally, the Dell Latitude D830 battery has never charged fully. When the charge is working , it always seems to quit around the 90% area. Since I’ve had my new battery, I’ve been running on A/C most of the time, but I am dreading my next trip when I longer have an outlet to plug into.

I received the Batery for my Dell D820, and it fit perfectly! On the Positive side, it was a perfect fit, and when the hard drive is not whirring, the charge indicator says I have over 5 hours of batery life left, which is great. The color of the battery differs from that of the computer only slightly.

On the negative side, the build quality doesn’t look as sturdy as the original, and the charge indicator lights look a bit “flimsy”, but then again, the original Dell latitude D520 battery lasted me only a year.

Even if this one lasts for the same ammount of time, it still cost me LESS THAN HALF of what an original Dell battery would have cost… As far as I’m concerned, I would recommend this product to anyone who owns a Dell and donesn’t want to get ripped off buying $300 battery that will only last a year, maybe even less.

Ordered this Dell Inspiron 5100 Battery for my laptop. Arrived and it was dead. Contacted company to return it. Communication on how to return the product was timely, but when I got a replacement battery that was dead too. I was able to return it and even though I got all my money back in full it was a lot of headache going back and forth with the emails and having to twice make a trip to the post office to ship it back. It took a over a month to finally close this issue. Even though I got all my money back in full and the emails on the status was very communicative it was a pain. It took two dead batteries to be delivered to a customer before an email from customer service stated that maybe the batch was bad and it needed to be looked into.

The price was right, the quality was great, and it arrived quickly. Far less expensive than buying from Dell. Thanks! Battery works perfectly, fits perfectly and lasts longer then the factory battery ever did. It is rater higher too.

was skeptical buying this battery for my Dell Inspiron 1420, being it so cheap. Any computer store around where I live the batteries were over $150 for standard capacity and even more expensive [...]. This is a great buy.
The only downside is that it is a heavy Dell Inspiron 1420 Battery and was not fully charged when I first put it in.
Otherwise, it works well and gives me 4 hours to float around on battery.

this Dell laptop battery is a nightmare. i bought 2 defective ones in a row and now dell will only refund one of them. the first one didn’t charge at all. after 2 weeks, the second one doesn’t charge past 5% of its capability. Dell will not refund me for the first one because their agents never connected me to the right # after I purchased the second one. Now i am over the 21 days. Dell has problems.

This battery only lasts a few months when I checked the price for a replacement I got shocked. I will try other batteries not from dell and check quality and price, maybe I can get the same performance as the oem but without wasting more money.

I purchased this laptop 2 months ago with the 1.83 Duo Core porcessor, 1 Gig RAM, 7200 RPM 60 Gig HD, Windows media center and office basic and True life screen. The computer is really quite fast and trouble free thus far. The E1505 Battery or 6400 Battery is a great laptop for the traveling power user. It is not so big that I can’t pack it from airport to airport, but is big enough that it is comfortable and easy to use. I have teh 1.86Ghz Core Duo, 2 GB ram, ATI X1400, Blutoot .

That’s the buyer’s review : I bought this laptop with a gig of ram, a 80 gig hard drive, an radeon 1400 graphics card, and a 1.86 dual core processor. It works great and i love how you can play dvd’s without booting windows. I can play all my games, even the graphics heav…y 3D ones not like my laso notebook Latitude D600 Battery .
I got the e1505 about 2 months ago and so far only managed to really screw it up once. I had to do the system restore (from the restore partition) and it only took about 10 minutes tops to reformat and reload the OS. The Radeon x1400 is very good for… what it is. I don’t run real high res in my games so it performs very nicely and still looks good. The display is very sharp and crisp and all text is very legible even for my poor ol’ eyes. It’s very quick at video rendering for DVD creation and the boot time is very fast (about a minute) due to a very quick HD. My only gripe is all the extra junk Dell feels the need to pile on, and the fact that a factory restore disc is extra (although that seems to be the norm anymore). All in all, it’s been a very good replacement for my aging desktop.
This laptop computer fits all my needs. I e-mailed this e-mail for the review on Dell Latitude D520 Battery. I do not know if I will ever want or use a different computer. It is perfact for any job that anyone may have or want.

After a while it will slow back down and stay there.? If the fan is already running at a lower speed when the benchmark starts, it usually won’t speed up.? After 10 minutes of simultaneous 3DMark05 and Super Pi, the fan did go from the lowest to the middle speed.

Inspiron E1505 Battery life with the default 6-cell battery averages around three hours–not great, but not bad for a multimedia portable computer. Dell offers an upgrade to a 9-cell battery for under $100 if you need a lengthier life before recharging.

Its battery is very weak . Some users talk: I paid a premium for the 85Wh battery when I ordered my Inspiron E1505 and I am extremely disappointed that the battery has quit holding a charge after only 18 months…and now I’m looking at nearly $200 to order a replacement?
