They pass the Argonath, the giant statues of Elendil and Isildur. Elendil was King of Gondor and it is Isildur who deals the death-stroke to Sauron.

I want to drop history?
Were only like a term and a bit into it but i already hate it.
our topics are the cold war and the war of the roses. i don’t really mind the war of the roses but i HATE the cold war. it doesn’t help that i don’t like my teacher and he treats me like a 4 year old, but i try really hard to listen and understand and i just can’t. when i ask for help he makes me look really stupid instead of actually helping he ask questions with only the really smart people know the answers to and makes me and anyone else look so stupid……
how do i overcome this to stick with the course?
i really want to get into uni
Im in english school so it’s not core….i picked it! i really liked it last year, it wasn’t my top choice but i thought it would be okay. I have 3 teachers.

Stick with it. It will be over before you know it. I have dropped classes in college and looked back and wished I hadn’t. I would go ahead and make it through. You will be happy you did in the long run. Quitting is the easy way out.

If you drop history then good luck getting some where in life! Here’s what you do, make eye contact with teacher when their teaching you something, take notes frequently, try to find the fun in something, try to put yourself in the shoes of certain people that your reading about. Works for me! I aced my mid term in history!

Yep, I’ve been there before. Your professor is a typical one that can be found in most universities. Sheltered by the walls of that university, never having to venture out into the real workforce…they know everything.

I would do this. You hate the Cold War because it’s probably boring to you. You’ve got to find some things though to really ask your professor. Something that is not a quick answer that they think "everyone should know".

Talk to some people that know a pretty good bit about history. Give them specific parts of the topic that your professor is talking about from a class that week. Then get some good questions to ask when you go back in there.

I’ll do it. Send me something. I’d be happy to help you put that know it all professor in their place with a few good questions.

Just do not drop it. You’ll always remember later that the professor got to you and was the main reason you dropped a class.

wow ya i understand you

I am at the university Of south Florida and I hate professors who do stupid things like that.

My college algebra teacher was from f-ing russia and nobody in class could understand her and it was bad enough that it was like 60 people in the class.

So if you asked her a question (which people are going to do that because this is math) she ramble and end up answering something else or she would also tell someone else in the class to answer it and it made you fell stupid or like what the f she didn’t even answer my question.

My Mass Communication teacher and my Political Science Teacher where the same way.

I am a jr now and now i know how to deal with it.

In classes like that you have to read ahead. Like read the chapter ahead of time before his lecture. That way when you g oto class you will already know what he is going to say. And take note s on stuff you didn’t remember from the chapter that he is saying. If you still have a question just go back in the book where he is at and look it up yourself. (and you will know where he is in the chapter by reading ahead.)

If you already do this and you some how still don’t understand I recommend dropping the class and getting a new teacher next semester. Or you can get someone in class to explain stuff to you after class if you don’t want to do that.
