The objective is to find a flower, Blood Orchid, that flourishes for a couple of weeks every seven years and could be a fountain of youth, prolonging the expectation of life of human beings. They are succeeded and once in Borneo, they realize that it is the raining season and there is no boat available to navigate on the river. They pay US$ 50,000.00 to convince Captain Bill Johnson and his partner Tran to sail to the location. Help with finding backup software?!?!?
I’m trying to find some sort of software that will monitor selected folders, so when I change something in them, i.e add a new file, the software will recognize this and copy the new file into the backup folder on my external HDD. Like a live file sync sort of thing.
I want this so I don’t have to copy over the whole folder every time I make a change to it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance!!

IMDB rating: 6.10 Plot: At the offices of a Japanese corporation, during a party, a woman, who’s evidently a professional mistress, is found dead, apparently after some rough sex. A police detective, Web Smith is called in to investigate but before getting there, he gets a call from someone who instructs him to pick up John Connor, a former police Captain and expert on Japanese affairs. When they arrive there Web thinks that everything is obvious but Connor tells him that there’s a lot more going on. |

dear horoscope section, could you PLEASE tell me about the compatibility between these two?
chart 1:
sun: taurus
rising: aries
mars: cancer
moon: gemini
mercury: aries
venus: aries
chart 2:
sun: aries
rising: unknown (time of birth is unknown)
mars: capricorn
moon: gemini
mercury: pisces
venus: taurus
how compatible are the two? which of the two (if any) would be more likely to cheat/lie? who would break the other’s heart?
They are compatible. The first person’s sun probably forms a sextile with Mars.
The second person’s sun is in Aries (ruled by Mars). The first person will have opportunities with this person. And will have to use them. It is not really a meant to be relationship, but something that makes sense. Not very karmic. Is what i am speculating from the data given. They will understand each other. They are both sort of naive and proud and they can understand each other.
I would say that the second person could be more prone to cheat and break the other person’s heart. Because of the squares that the moon forms with mercury and Mars forms with the sun. There is definitely some tension coming from this person, while the other chart has much less tension. Before reading what you were going to say about cheating, i was going to mention something along those lines.

Whats the name of the two giant statues in the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring?
When in a boat, they pass by two giant statues and Aragorn says something along the lines of "I have long wanted to see these"
I’m trying to find a good desktop wallpaper I saw for them a long time ago, but I only found a crappy one. Anyone know the name so I can try to find it?
http://www.xenite.org/faqs/lotr_movie/fe llowship-of-the-ring.html
They pass the Argonath, the giant statues of Elendil and Isildur. Elendil was King of Gondor and it is Isildur who deals the death-stroke to Sauron.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elendil
Known as Elendil the Tall (Tolkien put his height at "more than man high by nearly half a ranga" (almost 8′) and he was the father of Isildur and Anarion, last lord of Anduniee, and the first High King of Arnor and Gondor.

Tolkien gave Isildur’s height as seven feet tall.

Answer 1
The woman was Sharon Stone, and the stranger was Rosie O Donnel. Sharon’s promiscuous behavior had long been known to Mr Johnson, and he had learned to accept it. However, seeing his darling wife in bed with an obese lesbian sparked shock and fear! He knew that the only way he could avoid being Rosie’s next snack was to sate her with muffins, bacon, and other breakfast foods.
Answer 2
The stranger was, in fact, a newborn. Mr Lewis and his wife had been Amish, but Mr Lewis had been secretly hoarding technology in the hopes that he could more swiftly deal with any potential health risks caused by possible complications with the pregnancy. John Goodman was hiding in the tree by Lewis’s house, as it was his night to keep a watchful eye on his wife, when Mrs. Lewis spouted out a newborn. Lewis rushed home and was shocked to see that it was not human at all, but rather a half-grown wildebeast! Knowing they were carnivores, and wanting to make a good impression on his new child, Mr. Lewis promply chopped up John Goodman and fed him to his new bundle of joy.

Do you think you are able to take the "Path" and still be part of society?
"The "four modes of truth" are, in Northern Buddhism, Ku "suffering or misery"; Tu the assembling of temptations; Mu "their destructions" and Tau, the "path." The "five impediments" are the knowledge of misery, truth about human frailty, oppressive restraints, and the absolute necessity of separation from all the ties of passion and even of desires. The "Path of Salvation" — is the last one."
This passage resonates with my consciousness like a perfectly tuned instrument does with an orchestra. The passage makes sense to me…it speaks to me…but i dont know how to live it.
How can you reconcile the needs of your family and the needs of the physical body. Specifically i have family members(not to sound conceited) who would be very depressed if i left. I have come to the point where i know that as a species we must not confine our progression to the "whim of the collective" rather we must break free and experience individual evolution. But then what about the physical body?? I have a crooked spine and maybe 1nce or 2wice a year i suffer paralysis and pain i wouldnt want anyone to experience and it only goes away with the aid of extremely expensive healers that i could only afford with insurance.(universal health care would be nice).
I have assembled my passions and i am ready to do away with them. but
How do i tell my family and what do i do about needing to take care of the physical body???
passage from ‘The Voice of Silence"
This is Not My Account: Just to clarify. I have one need…and that is to liberate myself from desires and get back on the path. I think you have misinterpreted what i am saying about family and health. On all emotional and attachment levels i already have let go of my family. This has been hard and it has been a slow process as i didnt want to shock my family(they live and breath the current paradigm and if i just came right out and said "hey guys i am leaving…see you in 5 years" they would have admitted me to a mental ward(no joke)). I was just asking how to broach the topic with my family i.e. how do i tell them that i am leaving and will be living out in the country? and i do not desire physical perfection but with ruptured discs and degenerative discs in my spine it is not responsible for me to ignore the fact that i will need medical attention some time in the future..which leads me to the one downfall of the path which is that money is not part of the path and in U.S. doctor=$$
excuse my potty mouth al?kemy…but suicide is for weak pu$s*e$..i am a survivor, always have been, and survivors dont fight for 25 years just to end there life themselves…i aint goin out like that. i have seen 2 families deal with suicide this past year and i would never do that to my family. although my path involves quelling my desires that does not mean that i disregard other peoples feelings. why would i kill myself when i am alive at the most interesting time ever. i am just talking about living out in a cabin for like 5 or 10 years with little contact. i aint talking bout jumping of the Sears Tower or anything…ha
I think about this at least once a day…
What if society is the collective ego (is it? a couple of my contacts have introduced me to this concept) and if so you aren’t really going to get the reassurance or especially the okay to abandon it, ever. The ego is going to make sure and tell you exactly why you should be afraid to leave it. Exactly why you should feel bad for abandoning. Even if you are just one grain of sand the ego still is not going to want to lose control.
Break free…I hope one day I get the courage to join you! I am serious…..I am really starting to despise materialism/our govt./capitalism…our whole society of chasing a carrot– so it’s probably why this is all coming out uncensored. Society is like slavery to creativity…instead everything is about profit.

Modern society is all about the desire to have the most superficial thing: "Stuff". To the eyes on the people on top, you’re nothing more than a "consumer".
What comes second to that, though, is the desire to have this thing called the "American Dream" with a white-picket fence and two kids and a wife who loves you. People in fact want this ridiculous notion of a "dream" so much they completely throw their lives away trying to attain it.
Look, you’re better off saying this…
"F**k society. F**k everything that it tries to make me. F**k all of that. I’m my own man."

Can’t help you with this my friend, I’m facing the same issue ^_^
Hahahahaha… ^_^ | Jan 21, 2010
"The Path" can be translated in Chinese as "Tao". It is the fundamental concept for Taoism, along with Yin-Yang, the idea of balance. You listed two extremes, the needs of your family and the needs of yourself. You find it hard to choose one or the other, but perhaps what you really need is a balance point in the middle. Taoism is slightly similar to Buddhism and if you haven’t heard of it perhaps you should read the Tao Te Ching. It is the shortest religious text in existence and can be probably read in an hour, however it takes a whole lifetime to understand it.

Attending to physical needs is something you should continue to do. Sometimes the soul, elects to endure physical problems to work off karma. They are much preferable to emotional or mental problems.
Family obligations are also something that should not be forsaken. Just don’t allow yourself to create or be sucked into excessive family drama. You can still love them w/o being attached to a "need" for them.
Amy | Jan 21, 2010
I do believe the path is a full time job. But the point is are we really ready to do it full time. I go on retreats regularly, I was a nun 10 years in an ashram and I am happy that I left. I met many monks and frankly their monasteries are often just like a little society, they are so busy working , entangled in their world also. Real teachers are rare to find. I am travelling the road alone, no support, I go on retreats few times a year , I am looking to increase those silent retreat for few months. My family adjust the more I am sure of myself. There is no higher work than self knowledge for it will illumine the whole world. Thank you all for your inspiration.
I just like to add that I feel like an errant and that I would consider the highest gift the compagny of a realised teacher. But like my first teacher said I have what I deserved.
nia | Jan 21, 2010
I think that depends on what part of society you find yourself playing, and how willing you’d be to give it up completely if a better offer were to suddenly appear.
I think Soren Kierkegaard’s book title/quote is relevant here: "Purity of the Heart is to Will One Thing"
At the moment you have 3 clear desires. You’re willing 3 things at once(individual evolution, strong family relationships[to fulfill your perceived duty] and good physical health[lack of physical pain]).
Now perhaps you can have all those things in your life, who am I to say you can’t? You may be able to juggle all three things and have your cake and eat it too. But in my opinion, it would be foolish if you weren’t consciously aware of the order these 3 desires take for you. You seem to see individual evolution as your only desire, while your family is your duty, and your physical health a ‘need’. I’m not sure that is at all correct. I prefer to see your feelings on your family as a desire to fulfill your duty(something that not all people have at all times), and your physical health as a desire for comfort, or lack of pain(again, many people go through pain for perceived benefits). These desires are clashing with your acknowledged desire for individual evolution, but it may just be because you don’t see them as desires, rather as conditions to be lived under. And so this question needs to be asked. If you were to see them all as desires though, perhaps a new question would need to be asked and that would be: If you can only have one of these 3 things become real experience for you, which one would it be?
A very difficult choice I assume. But I do think that’s what it comes down to at the most basic level. When you can answer that question honestly, I think your behaviour will display your choice quite clearly.
Back to the main question: If a person wasn’t able to take the path and still be a part of society, then I struggle to see how anything like a path would have ever come into existence. Or if it did, then how would it have been passed from one mind to another? Communication between two or more minds is what society is based on, that’s society at it’s most basic level. Death and complete lack of communication are the only two escapes from human society as far as I can see. Although perhaps we have different definitions on what society is.
This is Not My Account | Jan 21, 2010
What are thinking of? Suiciding? If you feel enough of the pains of other people and the pains of things you will. Footfalls are what makes a path. No matter what else everyone is making some path. That doesn’t even require a thought.
al?kemy | Jan 22, 2010
I have been thinking about this Q since I first saw it and wonder if it is possible for you to gain health insurance before you set out. I’m not in the US, so am unfamiliar with how things work and prices and such, but think that if you could put your families mind at ease with regards to medical care, should you need it, they would probably be more willing to accept your need to find your place in the world. I wonder too, when you say a cabin, if it is a place that you already have in mind, or something you aim to find on your journey? If it isn’t any specific, do you think it might be worthwhile thinking about a retreat or holistic center? I used to live in North Wales, and in the area I lived, there were literally hundreds of herbalist, massage therapists, Reiki practitioners and such relatively close to each other, often working on a basis between themselves of a need and give basis. Many of them had land, which others would live on, giving full privacy and respect for solitude etc…, that they each needed in exchange for sharing friendship and skills. Again, as seen as they nearly all lived out in the woods, they had the space to explore themselves and their ideas, without being judged by others, as there were no others around them. Does America have anywhere like this, or more importantly even, would it be what you needed, as you could possibly find the doctor support (depending on what type of medical attention exactly you might need) right where you are?
Your family should be more willing and able to let you go if they feel you would not be suffering should you need attention, but ultimately, no family really likes letting go, and seeing a family member find their own wings. You might just have to be direct, after several more subtle mentioning’s, of how, for your own benefit, need to find your own way. Maybe don’t say how many years you intend to go though, at least not at first, until they are more used to the idea. And it not deceitful to do that, as finding your way, walking your path, may well mean returning.
It can be a brave thing to do, stepping out into the unknown, finding yourself, becoming, reaching for your potential, and when you set out, with your foot taking the first step of your journey, I wish you luck, in discovering all that you need to find, the inner journeys as well as the outer ones. My heart is with you…

A lot of my Tibetan Mahayanist teacher’s students used to come to me and ask how they can fit Buddhism into their busy lives. What I told them was that once you step on the path, the rest of your life comes onto that path with you. It is not a separate thing. Therefore when you ask if you can still be part of society well…yes. You just carry on with your life knowing that you have made a commitment to an idea or philosophy which is guiding you through your life. If and when you get to the point where, when you walk down the street and you don’t see people with either attraction, aversion or indifference then maybe you can think about long retreats. Most of us have an awful lot of work to do before we consider stepping away from society and many do it anyway and discover that they are burdened by a very large ego throughout their retreat.
As for your health well…that is caused, partly, by the condition of your mind. Try ayurvedic medicine and know that with your particular problem, the damage is mostly done but…people who have intense devotion have grown new teeth before!
I lived in a cabin with my 6 yr old daughter in the mountains in Tasmania in the early 80’s. It was at a Buddhist retreat centre but I was the only person on the property along with 6 milking goats and a big veggie garden. I had no running water and no toilet, no heating, no electricity. It was amazing and I did feel very blessed to have the opportunity while it lasted because I learned a lot about what my needs were. Best of luck to you. I hope whatever decision you make, it enriches your life and the life of others.

We are all at different points on that same spiritual path. Religions of all denominations simply concepts for the masses, "you MUST do this" or "MUST NOT do that" in order to gain spiritual enlightenment. The truth is, Earth is a school and we are here to learn, nothing more. There is nothing that we must, or must not do… whatever we do wherever we are, we are exactly were we need to be for learning our particular lesson. But the goal is not to achieve a certain state of mind at the end of the lesson, rather, to simply absorb the lesson itself – to experience. Obstacles come in all forms and they are intended to teach, rather than hold you back. In your case, your commitment to your family and your physical health are 2 things that you feel are keeping you from becoming what you think you "should" be. What about simply "being?" You can connect with the God force within you at any place or time; in any circumstance. I giggle to myself when people tell me I should go to church/temple, because I carry that "church" with me wherever I go, and so do they. But again, we are all at different points of our learning and no one person is better or more advanced than another in that respect, we’re just different.
In my opinion, it’s easy to see the God force within all when you’ve stripped your life away of all material things and desires. If that is your learning, then so be it. But it seems much more interesting a journey to try to recognize that God force within all as you deal with all of the issues of this material realm. I live in Los Angeles where there is never a moment’s peace, yet I create my own peace within my heart. My health is not very good, but I remind myself that this body is a vehicle that I will one day shed. Remember, anyone can meditate in a temple where it’s quiet and calm. But the person who can meditate in the middle of a crowded airport or subway, and actually find beauty in the noise, that my friend, is a highly enlightened person. You seem to be a highly spiritual being yourself… trust your heart and forget all the religious rhetoric.

whats a good hacker/computer related movie to watch?
what’s a good movie revolving around computers, hackers or hacking, computer virus, end of the world type film involving the use of a computer, espionage, privacy invasion, heists using computers etc/ techno-thriller.
please don’t include these as i have seen them:
enemy of the state, wargames 1 and 2, sneakers, swordfish, lawnmower man 1 and 2, matrix trilogy, tron, foolproof, die hard 4.0, johnny mnemonic, colossus: the forbin project, antitrust, the net, hackers, takedown, netforce, terminal error, pirates of silicon valley(also the documentary about firefox, can’t remember what that was called), the echelon conspiracy theory, mission impossible.
there’s probably loads more that i’ve seen, just can’t think of any.
hopefully that list will also give you an idea of what i might enjoy and help remind you of films i may never have hear of.
thanks to all in advanced

I think you got the best ones. The James Bond movie Goldeneye dabbles in hacking a little bit. The movie hints a little at the flood of Western computers into Russia after the fall of communism. That’s a little interesting.

Colossus is about as obscure as I know, but if you can be bothered to read a book, you may want to try "Stand on Zanzibar"

Fresh out of law school and full of hope for the future, Renny Jacobson is stunned by his father’s sudden death—and then by the terms of the will: the elder Jacobson has left the bulk of his estate to charity. For his only son, he has left nothing more than the contents of a deposit box and interest in a company no one has heard of—the Covenant List of South Carolina, Ltd. When Renny encounters lovely Jo Johnston, meets the members of “The List,” and discovers the staggering value of his father’s mysterious bequest, his hope is resurrected. But why is Jo, to whom he is deeply attracted, so reluctant for him to claim his rightful share? Renny feels the supernatural power of the 140-year-old covenant—feels it and wants it for himself. But when his life and Jo’s begin to unravel, he is forced to face the truth about “The List.” And nothing short of a miracle will save them from its grasp. |

Have you gotten results with the p90x program without following the diet plan?
I recently started the p90x exercise program. I really enjoy the DVDs especially since there is variety. However the meal plan that is included in the program I’m not too crazy about. I’ve been following the list of foods that are allowed in the program but I’m not fixing what the weekly menu is. So I was wondering if others had success with the program by following their own personal eating plan and if so did you like the results?
Thanks!
Mmm…someone wants to eat cheeseburgers and junk food but lose weight!! Can’t have the best of both worlds. My advice is to stick to a diet, or love yourself how you are.

Just cut down and sweets and white foods and drink nothing but water. I think the dietary part of the p90x was to attract housewifes.
