I purchased this fan for my outdoors themed living room and fit in well. It was easy to install and looks nice. I have received several compliments on the fan. It is quite when the fan is turned on and circulates a lot of air. If you want a fan that creates a nice breeze, this fan will do it. The lights also put out enough light for the room. The quality of product is exceptional for the great price. It is a well made, durable product.

We chose this fan because the style and colors really went well in our kitchen. No disappointments, although you should be aware that the lampshades are much more yellow in color than they appear in the stock photo. Also, a few reviewers were concerned about the lamp shades being fragile because they are made of kraft paper. Ours are paper on the outside, but more of a plastic material on the inside. Durability? It’s a ceiling fan for crying-out-loud. I installed it above my kitchen table; it isn’t going anywhere. Great buy.

We purchased this fan 4 years ago, and it has been wonderful. Still does not make a sound when running. The finish on it is beautiful – no faux wood look. The only drawback to this fan is the shades. They are paper, and after time, they dry out and actually start to shrivel and crack. I’m afraid that they could actually become a fire hazard.
We moved recently and took this fan with us. We were not able to re-use the shades, so I started looking for replacements… that was nearly impossible, since the fan requires a socket ring shade. I have found some, just none that I want to spend my money on. When I called Hunter to see if they had any adaptable shades, they said no, but they would send me free replacements. I received them several weeks ago, and yesterday, I noticed that one of the new ones is starting to dry-out and shrivel already. I may need to get smaller bulbs with less wattage. I am already using 40w ceiling fan bulbs…
I know this sounds like a lot of complaints for one ceiling fan, but the look of the fan makes this con well worth it for me.

Love this fan – we’ve just purchased our third Lancaster. The blades on this fan are great – no faux wood look here. The shades give off a wonderful warm light. This fan is enough to add interest to any room, but isn’t overpowering.

The information on the fan that I purchased did not include the info that the shades were paper shades. A call to Hunter told me that these shades can not be exchanged with other shades. The site also stated that the light kit could use 60 watt bulbs. This is also incorrect… 40 watt is the largest that can be used. The problem is Hunter’s. Their own website did not mention paper shades and has the incorrect bulb size also. Even the literature Hunter sends to its dealers is incorrect about the bulb size and does not mention the paper shades. I returned the fan.
