Is the beginning music from Escape to witch Mountain and Fox and the Hound the same?
I was just watching Escape to Witch Mountain from 1975 and the music sounded remarkably similar to the Disney music from Fox and the Hound. Does anyone know for sure?

It’s feasible. A lot of studios do that when they own the rights to music to keep the cost of new films down. It’s like all those movie trailers you’ve seen with White Zombie’s More Human Than Human playing even though the actual film doesn’t contain the song in it’s soundtrack. Disney is notorious for using the practice. You’ll notice a lot of the background music in Disney films reminds you of other Disney movies. It’s an intentional subliminal jab at your subconscious to make you want to watch more of their films so you can remember exactly where you heard that tune before. In Aladdin, it’s used more openly, to heighten some of Genie’s jokes, for instance.

I’m Writing A Paper for english 3,, need some ideas for a horror story with a gothic theme. (Ex: The Fall Of The House of Ushers, Etc…)

Hmmm…..Like something about a really huge house this family moves into it.and this girl is like 15 and has a mom but her dad ran away from home when she was about 3. And she has a little sister who could be like 6 and she’s from a different mom. And the like basement and attic has bats and scary stuff. and her mom takes an interest in Paranormal Activity, and starts studying Wica (Witch Craft) and invites an Evil Presence in to there house. And you could probably make up the rest! I hope I helped!!
Least pleased is Keaton (Gabriel Byrne) a crooked cop – exposed, indicted, but now desperately trying to go straight. The cops won’t leave him alone, however, and as they wait for their lawyers to post bail, he is talked into doing one more job with the other four. All goes tolerably well until the influence of the legendary, seemingly omnipotent “Keyser Soze” is felt. Although set in the modern day, it has much of the texture of the forties, plus suspense, intrigue (a fairly high body count), and lots of twists in the plot.

Misfits, Anarchists, ‘Ban the Bombers’… the usual suspects!!!

I’m answering this at 12.13pm listening to the protestors on BBC Radio 2. There’s not a brain cell amongst them, many have admitted that they don’t even know what they’re protesting about and can’t say why the war was ‘illegal’

 Adam Hussein | Jan 29, 2010

Pigeon-holing people may give you some solace which you must badly need. But it will not invalidate what they are protesting about. You need to go out and meet some of them. It may surprise you to find out that some of them are members of WI, and even a few are mothers of soldiers who have been sent to their death by a cynical PM who played with words.

It certainly won’t be the UAF, especially when their fuhrer is speaking today, peter Hain will have given strict instructions for the UAF to keep its head down.

As the Bearded Lady has mentioned, there are a lot of people who have a grievance against the left wing germ ‘Blair’ and those that have lost loved ones due to the ‘Stalinist scumbag’ Lies and deceit have every right to maintain a presence and tell him what they think of the ‘Turd’.

Unfortunately, the Chilcott enquiry was loaded from the start, two of ‘Blair’s’ great friends are on that enquiry panel so do you honestly think they are going to ‘rub him out’. This enquiry is not for us, its for history to proclaim Blair a saviour. They are never going to convince us of his innicence but as time goes by, Blair will be taught in schools to be a hero not the scumbag he is.

Someone has to have the guts to stand up to the people who got us into this, good for them. At least they have the courage to get out on the streets and make their feelings known.
It’s because of the apathy of all you people who have gone along with what has happened that we got sucked into the illegal wars anyway.
I have yet to find anyone who supported the war who can prove that it was justified.
And they were proven 100% about the stupidity of getting involved in Iraq.

I seem to recall the "usual suspects" on the right being very keen to invade Iraq and very keen now to acknowledge that it was a mistake, although they have difficulty remembering the support they gave the invasion. But whatever, as long as you can pigeon-hole them into whatever convenient category you choose.

Is it just me or did Terry Goodkind borrow elements from Arthurian legend whn he did his Sword of Truth series?
Richard’s sword for instance–the Sword of Truth. Could it have been borrowed from Arthurian legend? We all know about Excalibur. And Zedd–some sort of Merlin counterpart perhaps?

Of course he did. There isn’t a single English language fantasy story told in the last 400 years that hasn’t borrowed something from Arthurian legends.

Good writers borrow, great writers steal. And all good and great fantasy writers have stolen from the Arthurian mythos at some point or another.

You could make much the same comparison in something like Lord of the Rings where the true king who will unite the land and defend it is absent and it is only after the sword Anduril is reforged and Aragorn shows up wielding it that his claim on the kingship is proven and granted. And Gandalf? Totally Merlin, only more so.

 Wesley B | Jan 28, 2010

Why do you keep asking this?

It’s a fantasy story. It shares elements with other fantasy stories. That’s the MEANING of it being a fantasy story.
Could a peaceful life away from the city be just the thing to bring Meryl and Paul back together, or will the deafening silence of nature only serve to amplify the bickering couple’s painful peccadillos and drive them further apart than ever before?

Need girl names… Suggestions please?
Hello- Hubby and I will soon be working on adding #2 to our brood and I’m obsessed with names so I’m already thinking…

What’s a good middle name to go with:

Isla (pronounced aye-lah)

What’s a good first name to go with the middle name Victoria?

Hubby named baby #1 and so I get to name baby #2 and am very excited about this prospect- I have a couple boys names that I’m happy with already so now it’s just finding a girls name… I’d also love to hear any of your favorite names- though "R" names will be ruled out because our last name starts with "R".

Thanks!
Victoria is my sisters name- and I’d like to have the middle name be after her. I’m Anna Elizabeth and don’t want to name my daughter after me- this theoretical little girl has a cousin with the middle name Rose so I don’t think I’d use that either… Finding a good first name to go w/Victoria seems to be tricky!
Oh and she has a sister named Emaline- so no "Em" or "line" names…

Did God create mankind for a destiny in eternal Hell?
If the majority of people who have ever lived, are alive, and are yet to live, all have a destiny appointed in eternal flames of punishment (as most Christians would suggest), would it be correct in saying that God created mankind for the purpose of filling the lake of fire? Even though it was designed for Satan and his angels?

If the wages of sin is eternal punishment in Hell, then Jesus would have to be eternally punished if in fact He died for my sins. But the Bible says the wages of sin is death which is exactly what Jesus did, died. So how can you say people will be eternally tortured in Hell? Is Jesus presently being eternally tortured in place of those who accepted Him as Lord?

Or is Hell, better known as Hades, and Sheol, just the grave where all dead go, and the only real hope is that of a glorious resurrection into eternal life through Jesus Christ?

Does it make sense that the wicked dead are now being burned and tortured in flames, only to be resurrected again at the white throne judgment to be cast back into the fire? How can there be degrees of punishment if the wicked are already burning, can they be burned any worse the second time they go to Hell?
[Modest] Nice way to dodge all the other questions. Hopefully sincere Christians will open their hearts and look past the "traditions of men".
[Gen] So the little old lady who gave all her things to the helpless and poor, and served at a soup kitchen half her life, and donated to the good will and salvation army, but never picked up a Bible will get burnt alive since 1921 until the end of the 1,000 year kingdom, only to get tossed back into the fire for eternity?
[Suffice] Well, suffice to say, I didn’t even quote any Bible verses, so what are you talking about?
[Wendi888] Curses on thinking Christians! I used to not think, just spew out what I had been taught- the same things that have been handed down through tradition by men, mostly from folk lore and the Catholic Church.

Are you trying to make us think? Good job. Why would we worship a God who even allowed eternal torment, much less created it? God told Adam and Eve what the punishment for sin would be, "for dust you are and to dust you will return." Not a word about torment.

What would burn? We are souls, we don’t have them (Genesis 2:7) and God said our bodies would return to dust. If a body is put in fire it will quickly be consumed, utterly destroyed. One reason the Bible often uses fire to mean total destruction.

All we can do is go by the Bible. Our hope of everlasting life is through the resurrection. Just as Jesus was resurrected so will all those in hell or the grave. How they act after that, whether or not they accept God’s Kingdom and his purposes will determine whether they live forever on the earth or cease to exist forever.

The Bible says that death and hell are cast into the lake of fire at Revelation 20:14. These are conditions, not places, so what is the lake of fire? The verse explains it, "the second death." No resurrection, gone forever. So to be cast into the lake of fire means to never live again. Even Satan and his demons are thrown there. Since spirits aren’t physical beings they don’t burn, it means they too shall cease to exist forever.

God created humans to live forever here on earth. Adam and Eve lost that for their descendants until the ransom sacrifice of Christ Jesus. That didn’t mean God’s purpose changed. Consider Psalms 37:10, 11, 29 : "For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace… The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever." God’s purpose for humans and the earth.

Isaiah 55:11 says: "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Satan and his followers are not going to void God’s purpose, it will happen.

 No
Man was created to live eternally on earth & that is still what God offers .
Not heaven not hell but his original offer is still there for the taking .
The only hell on offer is eternal sleep in death just as explained in Eccl 9.
