Usual Suspects, The
Wednesday, March 17th, 2010|
IMDB rating: 8.70 Plot: After a waterfront explosion, Verbal (Kevin Spacey), an eye-witness and participant tells the story of events leading up to the conflagration. The story begins when five men are rounded up for a line-up, and grilled about a truck hijacking (the usual suspects). Least pleased is Keaton (Gabriel Byrne) a crooked cop – exposed, indicted, but now desperately trying to go straight. The cops won’t leave him alone, however, and as they wait for their lawyers to post bail, he is talked into doing one more job with the other four. All goes tolerably well until the influence of the legendary, seemingly omnipotent “Keyser Soze” is felt. Although set in the modern day, it has much of the texture of the forties, plus suspense, intrigue (a fairly high body count), and lots of twists in the plot. |

Do you find it quite refreshing that the people demonstrating outside the Chilcott Enquiry are the usual bunch?
Misfits, Anarchists, ‘Ban the Bombers’… the usual suspects!!!
I’m answering this at 12.13pm listening to the protestors on BBC Radio 2. There’s not a brain cell amongst them, many have admitted that they don’t even know what they’re protesting about and can’t say why the war was ‘illegal’

Its good to see the same jobless wasters finding something to fill their days with.

Pigeon-holing people may give you some solace which you must badly need. But it will not invalidate what they are protesting about. You need to go out and meet some of them. It may surprise you to find out that some of them are members of WI, and even a few are mothers of soldiers who have been sent to their death by a cynical PM who played with words.

It certainly won’t be the UAF, especially when their fuhrer is speaking today, peter Hain will have given strict instructions for the UAF to keep its head down.
As the Bearded Lady has mentioned, there are a lot of people who have a grievance against the left wing germ ‘Blair’ and those that have lost loved ones due to the ‘Stalinist scumbag’ Lies and deceit have every right to maintain a presence and tell him what they think of the ‘Turd’.
Unfortunately, the Chilcott enquiry was loaded from the start, two of ‘Blair’s’ great friends are on that enquiry panel so do you honestly think they are going to ‘rub him out’. This enquiry is not for us, its for history to proclaim Blair a saviour. They are never going to convince us of his innicence but as time goes by, Blair will be taught in schools to be a hero not the scumbag he is.

Someone has to have the guts to stand up to the people who got us into this, good for them. At least they have the courage to get out on the streets and make their feelings known.
It’s because of the apathy of all you people who have gone along with what has happened that we got sucked into the illegal wars anyway.
I have yet to find anyone who supported the war who can prove that it was justified.

And they were proven 100% about the stupidity of getting involved in Iraq.
I seem to recall the "usual suspects" on the right being very keen to invade Iraq and very keen now to acknowledge that it was a mistake, although they have difficulty remembering the support they gave the invasion. But whatever, as long as you can pigeon-hole them into whatever convenient category you choose.
