UFC 91 Brock Lesnar phantom punch on Randy Couture?
Seeing the fight in slow motion close up Randy Couture takes a dive after Lesnar misses with 2 punches, is MMA fake?
Er.. No. Brock Lesnar connected straight to Randy’s temple, and that’s what took him out. Absolutely nothing about MMA is fake.

If you watch it on a high quality stream (not crappy Youtube or something), you can clearly see the punch hitting the side and towards the back of Randy’s head. Lesnar’s hands are the size of cinderblocks (well, ok, ALMOST the size of cinderblocks) and it doesn’t take much for something of that size to produce tremendous force. Also, even I could probably knock Randy down if I hit him on that spot (back of the ear), and I weigh about 190lbs. Imagine what kind of damage 280lbs Brock Lesnar would do.

at best the punch hit the top back part of randys head not a known knockdown point but who is to say, the heavyweight division of UFC definately needed an injection of interest and who better for Randy to pass the baton to? I watched the fight with a mate in Australia on Main Event and we do not agree on anything BUT we both failed to see the reason for the initial knockdown, after that Brock clumsily hammered his way to victory…………………………very suss

I thought a F5 was coming next, but Randy would not get up because Randy’s head and face was being used like a basketball.

yeah I thought its just my imagination that Randy just dropped like that. I thought those punches are too soft for that result.
But watch it again, there are three hits which Brock made before Randy fell. One is a left to the jaw which is partially block. The second is what I think dropped Randy. Its a right elbow to the temple/ear of Randy. I though it was a soft right, but when i saw where the elbow was, dang thats it, that pain. The third is a left which is also soft, because Randy is on his way down by then.
Based on the time when Brock hit Randy with an elbow in the earlier parts of round two, thats the same elbow which stunned Randy. That elbow is mean. watch it again dude. Hope you catch it.

It is no secret that Couture wanted out of the UFC but he has more class than to throw a fight. I think he may have slipped or that the punch that got him was fillmed at an off angle and was not able to get up on time, it happens all the time.

Watch again. Being hit behind the ear messes up your central nervous system, which is where Randy got hit.

You sound really stupid or naive when you make comments like this!! You really need to talk with someone in MMA or even a doctor….they will tell you that the area Randy was hit in(behind the ear) is a bad spot to get hit and will cause you to get "knocked-out"!! Watch the fight again and try not to make such a stupid comment again.Brock’s punches are VERY powerful!

Couture took a dive. He was easily connecting with Lesnar in stand up, and realized he might accidentally knock him out, so he immediately goes to the clinch and pretends to be taking Brock (who is completely gassed and looking at the clock.)down. Couture tries none of his legendary striking in the clinch and lets Brock take him down. If you watch boxing you would know that a knock out punch always involves head movement from the opponent signifying a punch that connects, (NOT grazing). Couture’s head has absolutely no head movement, and he just falls straight down (no backward movement, indicating striking force to his body). Couture is obviously still very active on the ground were Lesnar starts throwing some fakey ass WWE shortest hammer fist that I have ever seen. Plenty of WWE practice I guess. Every one knows about the deal with Dana White and Randys contract, so I won’t go into that. Anyways I always respected Randy, but sorry U blew it Randy. A fighter throwing a fight is a FN coward. U should have just beat Lesnar and knocked Dana White out after the fight. Doesnt matter Lesnar loses his next fight unless Dana finds some hight school kids to fight him for the next year like he likes to do. UFC has become a Pile of SH__!. Rampage kicked Forrest a__! ALSO BY THE WAY. BYE UFC. U WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DIME FROM ME. Please don’t watch this Sh__! unless it’s free. Also its sad the top fighters get paid like 50k fight. and UFC pay per view has surpassed Boxing and all other ppv events as well I believe.
