I'm engaged and want to break it off. I'm scared of being alone and being embarrassed. What would you do?
I’m 25 years old. I have been with my fiance for 7 years. We got into a huge fight tonight – an ongoing fight. Essentially, he hasn’t changed. It’s the same fight about him playing play station.
Tonight was our anniverary and he wouldn’t stop playing to have sex with me, talk with him, watch TV with me or spend time with me. I begged him and he wouldn’t. I turned physo and literally snapped his game. He called me mean names like fat cow (umm I’m 5′8 and 135 lbs) and called me acne face. He stormed out and told me to fucking get a fucking brain. I threw my ring at him and told him it’s off.

He seriously always puts games before me. I am done. I don’t want to marry him anymore but I’m worried about being alone the rest of my life and I’m so embarrassed to tell everyone that the wedding is over – not even my parents know we have problems – everyone thinks we are perfect.

What would you do?

I hope your not laying in bed crying still. Why are you worried of being alone for the rest of your life? You’ll find someone better that makes you happy. And don’t worry about being embarrassed to tell everyone that the wedding is off. There is no shame in that. You’re parents would be much happier to see you break it off than get married and be miserable.

its good thing you wanna get out of there, dating is about finding the one for you,, no need to feel embarrassed, get out and find some one that will respect you and love you!!
Are you kidding? He wants to play play station all the time. His a kid still, you need to find a man. Your still young so don’t stay with someone because your afraid to be alone. That’s not a good idea. What you want to have 2 kids with him and you having to deal with kids alone all the time because he wants to play video games. Read a few of the questions, grown men would rather play video games then work while said wife works 2 jobs. Look at your future.
CHICKA | Jan 29, 2010

He needs to be with the real people….really.

All of the physical stuff aside, name calling (bad) aside…he needs to learn that the woman he says he loves really IS going to leave him.

He needs to grow up. You both need to learn about treating each other lovingly at all times.
DM | Jan 29, 2010

Break it off. You don’t want to spend a lifetime with a man who prefers a game to his woman. Don’t be embarrassed. It is YOUR life. And you will not be alone. There are billions of men out there.
ronaldbreit | Jan 30, 2010

An engagement is a time to take a good long look at your relationship to see if this is really the person you want to be your lover, your partner, and your best friend for the rest of your live. It sounds like he is not a good choice. A broken engagement is far better than a divorce. Our daughter broke 2 engagements at ages 21 & 24. At age 27 she found a really great guy and they have been married 11 yrs.
25 is still very young. You will find lots of guys and one of those will be right for you.
I had the same fears of being alone after I was widowed in grad school. 2 yrs later I met a woman who turned my life right side up again. Good Luck.
old beatnik | Jan 30, 2010

I would honestly not back down from the stance that you took.
Do not marry this man, as he is not willing to put in the work to make a relationship successful. After marriage, his behavior would worsen.
Get away from him permanently, and find someone who can treat you right.
Scarlet Cougar | Jan 30, 2010

I answered your other question as well. Break it off now and do him a favor. Then before you get into any more relationships take some time out to get yourself together.
You won’t be alone the rest of your life. Do you want to ruin his and your life because you are scared you might be alone? Get a grip and take action now.
Aunty | Jan 30, 2010

He’s an addict. I would research how to deal with someone who has an addiction. Could be a start for you at least.
clowny clown clown | Jan 30, 2010

seems to me you have a lil boy and not a man! but don’t worry people eventually grow up.. you must think before you explode again. 7 years is not something to be thrown away so quickly.. if you really love him give him an ultimatum and tell him you want to postpone the wedding, ask him to get professional help if he then does not change with in 4-6 months then leave him! but i must say if he refuse to get help then you can walk away knowing you have tried and you will never feel no regret.

Plot: Flick’s Chicks is a romantic comedy that centers around a young mother named Flick. After a lifetime of problems and disappointments with men, she decides she wants to spend her life with a woman. As sweet and funny as she is, Flick is flawed and confused but has come up with an unconventional way to find her new mate; A weekend sleepover. She finds the 5 women that she’s recently met and has been attracted to in one way or another and invites them to spend a weekend at an out of the way summer house by the beach. A weekend to get to know her and her daughter Roxy, who at only 10 years old, has a maturity far beyond her years. The only problem is, she has invited all 5 women to stay with her at the same time in the same house and none of them know that. Flick’s Chicks takes you on a humorous and voyeuristic look at 6 women as they get to know each other, annoy each other and learn to accept each other and in the end, hopefully find love.

Do you believe it's possible that Satan WAS the star that guided the wise men to Bethlehem?
So I just came up with this theory, maybe… the wise men were once looking up to the sky when suddenly, in the early morning hours they say a "bright, morning star" and they said "Ooh, that’s pretty." And so they followed it east towards Israel (they were in Mesopotamia which is to the west) and so when they finally get settled and arrive in Bethlehem the great star that was guiding them shines brighter until it gets closer to them and then the wise men realize that it’s this beautiful angel, and the angel gives them gifts of Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh. Then baby Jesus looks upon those gifts and coos happily. Then the angel snickers to himself and vanishes like the wind. It was Satan! People don’t you realize. The brightest morning star. The Bethlehem star was the brightest. Do you think this story has wings to fly? Did Satan become the star and provide the wise men their gifts? What do you think?
Excuse me they went WEST towards Israel, because they were EAST in Mesopotamia
Isaiah 14:12
"How you have fallen from heaven,
O morning star, son of the dawn!"

-Verse that refers to Satan.

I don’t believe Satan would lead anyone to Jesus.

 Lena | Dec 23, 2009

Honestly you are on the right track, those wise men were astrologers and God does not approve of astrology and people looking to the stars for answers. So there is no way that was a sign from God. Herod had a plot was to kill Jesus after he found out he was born King of the Jews, he wanted those men to carefully find him, and it was Satan’s plan to guide those men directly to him. After a divine dream those men didn’t go back to Herod because of his plan. So what did Herod do he sent soldiers out to kill all small children of a certain age 2y/o and younger and hopefully get rid of Jesus too. But by that time they left.

Job Scams on Craig's List?
Well, I made an idiotic mistake for giving my resume and address to a job post scam. They are sending me emails. My last one, this morning, I told them to not email me. They said they were sending me a check that they want me to wire from my account (Which I am not going to do). I doubt they will send it. But If they fedx it like they said, can’t I just send it back? What can I do to get out of this. I am a little scared because I have never done anything this stupid. Can you please help? Thanks
Thanks a lot. I never gave them any numbers of mine. Nothing huge. So it seems I have nothing to worry about. I was just so worried.

It’s a phishing scam. Look carefully at what you’ve sent them so far and decide if your account numbers or social security number are vulnerable.
If they send you anything, you can either forward it to the police as evidence of their scam, or just throw it away. This is a pretty common scam, and their probably not in the US.
Aragorn | Feb 04, 2010

Don’t worry, if the check arrives destroy it, what they do is to have people cash their checks for them, it will clear, but after a few days it’ll bounce and you will be the one who’s going to pay for it.
If they e-mail again just delete the e-mail and ignore future ones.
????????!!? | Feb 04, 2010

If u receive anything from them, call the police and give them all the evidence.

This is a well known scam.
Harry Megamix | Feb 04, 2010

Trust me on this — many people have fallen for this scam which is why they keep doing it. You, on the other hand, have figured out it’s a scam before you actually got in trouble. Good for you.

If, in truth, they FedEx you a check and the delivery requires that you sign for it, simply refuse to sign and FedEx will have to send it back. If FedEx just drops the package by your front door, rip up the check and throw it in the trash. You never received it if they ask and they have no proof that you ever got it, right?

Don’t respond to any more emails that they send and eventually they’ll move on to the next target.

If you don’t play their game, you won’t be in trouble.
Mary | Feb 04, 2010

Just destroy the check, or you can call the cops and tell them that you know someone is trying to scam you and give them the check or something. They can’t scam you if you don’t cash the check and send the money to them. Don’t feel bad, I had one try to scam me for a painting job, it just got all too fishy so I cursed them out and they never contacted me again.

Do you think atheists invented violent video games because they weren't satisfied with killing unborn children?
I guess they got so good at killing babies that they figured they couldn’t do any better in the real world, so they turned to the next best thing: the imaginations of the living.
@A Modest Proposal: why kill them yourself when you can get others to do it for you, thus corrupting good people in the process?

We got the idea for violent video games from your crusades. We got the idea of torture from your witch hunts.
In short, we took your real evils and made them safe.

Abase yourself and thank us, ingrate.
Dharma Nature | Feb 08, 2010

It’s funny how such games sell so well in the mainly Christian USA. I mean, if there was an inkling of truth in your assumption, then I would expect countries like Sweden to be major consumers.
A Modest Proposal | Feb 08, 2010

I can assure you that we are very satisfied with killing unborn children. Especially when we get to eat them afterwards.
Video games are video games, they’re not real, it’s just like horror movies. Also, it’s true that people in Canada Australia and Europe tend to be more sexually-liberated, but more violence, while Americans have a higher tolerance for violence, but less for sexuality.

Isn’t it funny that most abortions are procured because

(A) the family feels financially unable to cope with a child or another child. While the religious right who are supposedly "Pro Life" strenuously object to any increase in welfare payments to low income earners and those in desperate need of assistance.

(B) Unwed young mothers who feel they will be ostracized and victimized because of their pregnancy by the overly religious members of the community who fiercely oppose any form of sex education and easy access to contraception.

So while you say you oppose aborting the sad truth is the death of these unborn innocent fetuses is placed firmly at the feet of the rabid religious right.

You must have us mixed up with your loving god. You know the one who kills even animals that had nothing to do with what went wrong, the same god that killed children, women and the elderly. He even destroyed the world if you believe that joke book that you have your head wrapped in. Imaginations we always leave to you believers of miracles who surely do not do much living just a lot of praying and wishful thinking. Unlike those good christians in your bible who let the babies be born then bashed out their brains against rocks, today for whatever reason they are aborted before you believers can bash their head against rocks or give them up for burnt offerings. Then in Haiti it seems that some of you good christians were trying to steal a load of kids for what, to sell them on the market? Not even by the best imagination is that OK. I think ignorance is the operative word.
k at school we just finished watching slumdog millionaire and surprisingly most kids in my class thought that everything that happened in the movie happened in real life so alot of us disagreed and we had an argument then we asked the kids who are from india 2 are muslim 1 was hindu and we asked them about how things really are india then they said that slumdog millionaire was over exaggerated and that there isn’t a big issue between hindus and muslims the bigger issue is dalits and non-dalits( the caste system) then we got this assignment about comparing the lives of the kids in the movie to the lives of the kids in real-life(we have to do research on how their real lives are) and for the rest of the class our teacher gave us a long lecture about the difference between a movie and a documentary sooooo….

why do ppl beleive everything they see in movies? why does our society make stupid movies where people would started to labels things and why do ppl believe everything they see in movies, which are not real? also when i researched these movies i found articles of people totally stereotyping after watching these movies, they had the same idea as the kids in my class? give me your opinion on this

and this isn’t the first time same thing happened when we saw american history X(all the kids in my class thought american white ppl are racists), freedom writers(all the kids in my class thought the teens in long beach are uneducated and aggressive) and now slumdog millionaire where all the kids in my class thinks that all hindus and all muslims don’t like each other and don’t get along, the next thing we are going to watch is "it takes a child", a documentary finally!

btw this is a grade 10 academic class

Because you are young and impressionable. The point of those movies are to get your mind and gears thinking. To inspire people to gain more knowledge or research more about the topic of the movie.

Florida Theme Parks?
i am planning on going to Orlando Florida in either summer ‘10 or summer ‘11. I’m planning to buy the lrnod Flex Ticket Plus. That gives me unlimited admission to SeaWorld, Aquatica,n Wet ‘n’ wild, Busch Gardens (Tampa Bay), Catwalk, IOD and Universal Studios.
1 Compare weather and crowds in August and July. What month is better? These are the ONLY ones I would be able t travel in!
2. Universal Express Plus. Can I add it onto my flex ticket? Is i worth it?
3. Meal Deals. Universal offers these for $$21 per person, avabilbe from 10- 30 min before closing, at seclect resteraunts. Good for 1 park, pay extra for 2 parks. Add drinks for $8 per person.
