I bought a De Longhi Magnifica Super Automatic espresso machine from Starbucks about 2 years ago. I use it almost everyday and since buying it, I have descaled it usually once a month, even though the automatic descaler indicator did not warn me to do so. I was using the descaler that was sold at Starbucks not knowing that the powder was actually not good for the internal components of the machine. Eventually, the steam wand would not work and I would constantly get a message that the beans were too fine and to adjust the grinder. When I called CS, they told me to use the Durgol. Thank goodness they did! After 1 cycle of descaling and dark, dirty deposits, the steam wand was back to normal. Yeah!!!

Before purchasing Durgol I read through the Amazon custmoer reviews. One person had the same espresso machine as me (Breville Cafe Roma) and the product had worked as promised. Same here. It’s great product that unclogged my espresso machine, which now brews the perfect espesso and frothy, steamed milk. The only thing I would recommend is that the instructions indicate only one time through with fresh water after decalifying is necessary. I would suggest at least twice or even three times to get all the Durgol cleaned out, and you’ll be amazed at how much stuff will still be coming out of your machine.

This is a good product and easy to use. We have an espresso machine and this is the best product I have used. I do think it’s a bit expensive to buy on line with the high shipping charges and am glad I now know where to find it locally.

We first came across this product as a sample included with our coffee machine purchased through Starbucks (we have a de Longhi). This was the easiest de-scale we had ever performed, so have continued to use this product for the past six months on both of our machines. The De Longhi has an automatic sensor that tells us when to descale and we keep at least 2 bottles of Durgol on hand so we are always ready. This has lead to a longer life span for our coffee machines and keeps the coffee free flowing. Try it and see, I am certain you’ll never go back to the powders you have to mix…

I bought this 12 oz UPDATE pitcher from another vendor and was dismayed at the QC of the company. Mine came with little dents in the side. The handle has since corroded in many places and looks awful.

My Rattleware (RW) 20 oz I have had for longer and wash in the same dishwasher as the update one, shows no signs of any damage so I assume it is made of higher quality “stainless” steel.

The most recent one, a 16 oz RW bell shaped one (from Amazon) also shows no rust ether. My next one will probably be a 12 oz RW to replace this one.

This is a decently built pitcher, but too small for good frothing action — tends to spill over. A 20 oz. pitcher seems to work better.

This pitcher’s dimensions are: about 2.65″ wide at the top, about 2.8″ wide at the bottom and about 3.6″ deep.

I’m new to espresso/cappuccino making and this pitcher makes frothing much easier. The straight sides enable you to get that ‘whirlpool’ that is critical in making the sought-after ‘microfoam’. The smaller size is also a help. Don’t bother with bell-shaped pitchers….this is the one you need.

This is an ok size for creating a small 2 cup cappaccino with the Mr Coffee Cappaccino Maker. This size does not give you very much frothing room for larger drinks and I will probably purchase the 20oz size soon. The quality is excellent, sturdy stainless steel and heats the milk alot quicker than a ceramic mug I have been using. Get this for making smaller drinks but if you want more frothing room I would get the 20oz or even larger.

Very small. Steams enough milk for 1 serving of double-shot latte. When deciding on size, always measure liberally. Take into account that steamed milk usually doubles in size if done properly.
