How do you cope with not being able to heal others, Like Mark 16:17 says we should?
Mark16:17 and these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name , they shall cast out demons……" And I am aware that some versions delete this passage, however there are other references to healing by non apostles. Philip and Stephen in acts were not apostles ,but performed miracles. In Mark or John , John said "Lord there is a guy who’s not with us and he’s casting out devils in your name" J said "cool". Jesus said that we would do the miracles we saw Him do and greater. I’m at the library computer right now and it seems to be handicap or challenged day: alot of handicapped people walking around. I bet if I asked one of these, they would say that they are not even bothered by the way they are. They seem so happy and they’re having a blast, but it tears my heart out to think that I should be able to kneel down and pray for them and see them walk out of here right as rain. I also know that it’s not up to me to heal the world, I’m not the saviour. I have prayed over people and seen it not work. I’ve had oil poured on me and prayed for and I can’t recieve my own healing………. how do you cope?
My friend
We are all given a measure of faith.
The word said if we had the faith of a mustard seed we could move mountains.
Some explain this scripture to mean ; overcoming our trials.
I see it literally.
Consider Christ and what He did. Yes He was God in Man, but He was Man.
We have never known what being God in Man truly is as Christ did.
We have Christ in us by way of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit can perform these Miracles through us. If we have the faith to believe He can.
Also the receiver must also believe He or She has received the Healing or Miracle.
According to Jesus, be it unto you according to your faith.
Remember the woman with the issue of blood ? She believed that all she had to do was touch His robe. The Lord felt her touch, even though He was in the crowd of many.
It was her faith that healed her. Jesus spoke not a word to her as to her healing. She did it by her act of faith.
Just some thoughts for you to consider my friend
peace to you

in Christ

the Greater is the Holy Spirit living in us…Jesus defeated the physical world through his resurrection (thus no more ‘casting out demons’ as in ancient times….he whipped the devil’s ass already in that category) next is the spiritual completion through Second Coming when he will finish whipping devil’s ass to anhilihation…so the healings, etc. are not necessary for ’signs’ anymore since Christ has ascended.
suffering produces perseverence, perseverence character and character hope…Hebrews

The prayers of the faith heal the sick. There might be some unforgiveness hindering the healings.

If an old scroll said you could fly if you really really wanted it would you have issues when you couldn’t fly?
I don’t understand the problems really.
Just because some old book, scroll, or parchment states something doesn’t make it true.

I cope by understanding the Bible and why the early disciples had miraculous abilities that we no longer possess (they didn’t have the completed Word, we do). I cope by realizing how much advancment medically we have now compared to then. I consider things miracles that many apparently take completely for granted.

Healing comes in many different forms. Sometimes, just being a friend to someone, can make them feel better. As does feeding someone who is hungry. Use your imagination, and if you want to heal others, you’ll find a way. Even showing a smile to a stranger can go a long way.

1 Corinthians 12 makes it clear not everyone is given these gifts. Some people are, and some aren’t. Don’t worry about it. =) As long as you believe Jesus died for you, you are saved.

Simple brother Godboy. It is not ours to heal others. More it is ours to help, serve and guide when called upon. As Christ Yeshua made abundantly clear during His life and His healings, "Your faith has healed you".
Understanding that "miracles" are simply a change within one’s perception. Thus it is our own faith, in the name of Love, that heals us. We are the healing for ourselves. This is also referred to as "acceptance". If we believe that we are to heal others, when in fact we have no power over others as we are all One with the Father, it is nothing but despair to our egos when we realize we cannot "heal" others. Your ego alone has led you to believe that it is within you to have "power" over others.
Do not stand in a place of judgment either. Do you wish them to pray for you in the eyes of judgment? The handicap and any others are exactly where God wishes them to be. In the core of their Life’s experience. I have a sister with Cerebral Palsy. Many in churches always wish to "pray for her" when I simply ask them to try praying WITH HER. The maim, addicted, depressed, afflicted, etc. are just as holy, anointed and accepted as are you & I. See the Christ within all, and soon you will see your despair disappear.
Be Love, unconditionally given, to all and in being so your example, dare we say your Light, will shine bright and strong for others to see & feel. Thus they too eventually will begin to shine likened unto yourself.
Blessings

What’s to cope with? The Scriptures say that faith healings by the laying on of hands would stop. The Scriptures also warn that such things can come from another source other then God for the purpose of misleading the weak.

I have been involved in prayer for healing. Sometimes there is a healing and sometimes not. God has an eternal purpose for everything that does or does not happen. Lack of faith can hinder healings; unrepented sin can hinder healings; asking with the wrong motive will hinder prayers from being answered; and also God knows how the person will respond to the healing and what he will do with it. If the person is not going to use the healing to testfy about God or give him the glory, this could also hinder the healing.

The LDS do this all the time but it is sacred, not secret, and do not banter it about. To do so, 1 it has to be Gods will – pretty easy in his case. 2 You personally must live a clean, righteous life 3 You must have the authority to do so – This is the priesthood. If you do not know about it as I suspect, you are already at a disadvantage. You cant just wave a stick Heb 5:10
