Avenged sevenfold and the rev?
How much longer til they know how The Rev died? They know it was natural causes which could basically mean anything except murder and suicide. Alot of people say it had something to do with drugs and I believe that very much might be the answer. But when the autopsy was inconclusive they said they were gonna run toxicology tests which would take 2-4 weeks. It’s been like five weeks now. So how much longer until we know the exact reason or is this all we’ll get?

Probably a few more weeks/months until it’s revealed to the public. As his family and the band said, the family would like some privacy for a while.

Do you think if there was a prophet today, to lead and guide us; there wouldn't be so much puzzlement?
Do you think if there was a prophet today, to lead and guide us; there wouldn’t be so much puzzlement about what religion is true and "no, this passage means this and that" because in the bible times they had prophets to lead and guide them. i also read in Ephesians that Jesus Christs’ church must have prophets and apostles to…. run His church i guess ya could say

Eph. 2: 19-20
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.
And: 1.
Eph. 4: 11-14
11 And he agave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

and also the only thing Satan doesn’t have one bit of power over; is the priesthood. so when the last apostle died; there went the last person with authority to give the priesthood. so…. when you don’t have the priesthood; that leaves your religion subject to the power of Satan. and you even. and that’s where all the other sects of religion come into hand………….they don’t have a Prophet, or the priesthood to keep them from being subject to Satan’s tactics. that’s what i discovered

and also the lord says He’s the same yesterday, today and forever. if that’s true then, where is our prophets. why is there so many sects of religion? why isn’t it the same as the prophets of old. to lead and guide us in a dispensation. wouldn’t it take revelation to know if there was no more revelation? the lord wouldn’t just cut us off like that. where is the lord to keep us updated on His works?
i haven’t singled out any other religion on my research. there’s only one big successful religion out there that fits the criteria of Christ’s true church: the LDS church.
Good riddance.

Actually (as others have correctly stated) a true prophet will only decrease puzzlement among those who correctly identify him as a true prophet. A person that hears the truth but doesn’t believe it will gain no benefit.

Fortunately, God will answer the prayers of humble seekers as to where His truth may be found. If God has called a prophet today, then God will lead honest seekers to that prophet. I am thankful for the spiritual witness I have received that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, called to restore priesthood authority, precious truths, and Christ’s church to earth. Today, the true prophet is Thomas S. Monson. I have felt the same spiritual witness as to his prophetic calling as I received with respect to Joseph Smith.

This knowledge is available to all. Read the Book of Mormon with a searching, honest heart. Then ask God if it is true and if Joseph Smith was a true prophet. If you ask in faith, humility, and sincerity, God will answer you by the power of the Holy Ghost.

"puzzlement" is not a word. But there would be more "puzzlement" if there was a prophet, since there would be argument over whether or not the prophet was real.

We have something that the people during the Prophet era did not, the Holy Spirit.
He guides and directs us.

John 16:13 (King James Version)

The True Prophets of the days before Christ were directly instructed by God…. and even those could not compel others to follow them…. and the vast majority did not… not even the big ones like Mosses and Isaiah… and there is no need for prophets such as those… as The Word is complete… no more is to be added to it… thus no more Prophets as in old….

Think about it…God sent prophets and many would NOT listen…they were even killed…Sooooo God sent His Son Jesus…what happen??? He too was put to death…People are for themselves…they do not want their sins revealed…they want to live their lives in darkness…God came to this planet as a man…and still they would not listen…what makes you think they will listen today…they won’t.

no we do not need a prophet.
we have the word of god and the holy spirit to guide and lead us.

the people who had prophets did not have the word of gd but had just parts of it.

satan does not have power over the church because of no priest
the holy spirit of god keeps satan out of the church and the holy spirit tells people the truth

the problem we have now is people do not have the holy spirit and make up their own teachings or believe lies. god said this would happen

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

the holy spirit tells us the truth
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

the people in the old testament did not have the holy spirit living in them as we do today as christians. no the LDS is not the one true church.

the true church is every believer who has called on jesus to save them and believe jesus rose from the dead, not a religion. romans 10:9-10

Well I believe there is a TRUE prophet. And his name is Thomas S. Monson. But that’s just me and my beliefs and I don’t look down on anyone who doesn’t happen to have my same beliefs. But it’s not cool how people make up rumors about us. (btw I’m LDS or Mormon)

what are your personal stories of meeting your S.O online?
hello,
not a troll question, don’t worry. have seen many tonight:P and i know stigma is attached to online romance so no negative comments please…

well, i met someone online a few months ago and we are committed to each other as if we were really together. i have no problem with this and don’t intend on cheating. we are going to meet.
but i was wondering what is defined as cheating in such a context. i mean, clearly many elements to the relationship are lacking. you haven’t even met yet. the reason why i ask this is because him and i got into a serious fight and he dumped me, or so it seemed, or got angry and gave me silent treatment, can’t really tell seeing as we’re not together! for a couple of weeks we were ”off”, then came back and in the mean time i chatted with 2 or 3 other guys on an non sexual site. he was still in my heart and i wanted him but out of anger i tried to move on. now i feel like i cheated.
what are your personal stories of how you connected with the person you met online, how long did it take you to meet, were they the same in person, and while you didn’t meet, have you gone with anyone else in reality (although you committed yourself to the person online- or not). i am a loyal girlfriend. it’s just the whole long distance and haven;t met yet dynamic is confusing my ideas of what i did was cheating and if we were together, would it be considered as such. thanks…

Here’s how me and my boyfriend met..

Well, my ex boyfriend and I had broken up a week or two before, and I realized that I was NOT going back to this loser. He was trying VERY hard to convince me to get back with him, but after being treated so bad and being cheated on, I was done. He had this friend, and while I was on AIM he was talkin to his friend on AIM also. He was telling his friend the story, and I asked him if he told him about the part where he hit me and cheated on me? and he was like "No." I then said "Fine, I will tell him since you won’t. What’s his SN?" I was not going to have him making me look like a fool. He then told me he would get his friend to IM me.

A few seconds later, I get an IM and I told him my side of the story. This was the day before Christmas Eve in ‘08. After telling him my side of the story, he told me how sorry he was and that if I needed somene to talk to or just wanted someone to listen, he would be there. I felt like I had met a new friend, and it was pretty cool. The next day was Christmas Eve. When I signed on AIM he sent me an IM telling me Merry Christmas Eve! and we just began talking again. Well, after talking for an extended period of time, it was quite obvious that we had a lot in common, and that we were starting to develop feelings for each other.

The next week, he admits to me how he feels, and I tell him how I felt. The end of the month (Jan 31st) We met in person, and it became official. We got together. We have been together ever since and I couldn’t be any happier. He treats me like a princess and is the best boyfriend. My family and friends adore him. of course, he dislikes my ex too. I would not have gotten with him if they were close, but him and my ex were just aquaintances.

So, that’s my story. Kind of ironic, but we are both extremely happy and make it work. We are seperated until next month, he is in the Air Force so he in Tech School. I stayed faithful even before we were official.

Best of luck! :)

I’ve had online friends, but never a romance. But why make a commitment to anyone that you haven’t actually met in the physical sense. It shows desperation from the both of you. I’m not discrediting your online emotional connection, but slow down and meet the person for real before worrying if you done any cheating.
You may not want anything to do with the person when you meet them, who knows. Could be some 60 year old pervert or some 9 year old jerking your chain.

From the time that my husband contacted me the first time to our first meeting was 2 or 3 weeks. I wasn’t about to spend a lot of time and emotional energy in a cyber relationship.

One of those days or what…?
Ever had one those days where you try to help somebody and they seem to ignore you? well that’s been the case for me. Take a gander:

A few months ago(I lost count) I started helping this user fan fiction.net named Solar Carol with her stories. At first it took me a while to explain to her about when a person critiques a story that NOT EVERYONE will like it and there are folks that tell it like it is and point out mistakes. While reading her stories I did notice she makes quite a few spelling mistakes as well as punctuation, repetition and grammar. I know a lot of people do that (I started out that way) but you’d think after a person points out to somebody after a while they’d get the hint. Anyway I’ve been giving her tips and suggestions including asking friends and such to read and critique her work, I also mentioned some of the things in her current stories(fan and original) aren’t realistic. Here’s the summary of one of her original stories:

In a small pleasant neighborhood, Rodger and his friends have seen everything and things start to get pretty weird. Then one night, Rodger gets captured by wild wolves in the dark forest over the street. They force him to join their alliance, to kill pets and humans. And in the pack is a lone wolf Noton witch rivals Rodger. Will these two menace each other or will they have to work together to save us all?

I critiqued it. The story is on a self-publishing/writing website called webook, they have a review box and here’s how it’s formated, below is my critique:

General:
Well, to start your spelling still needs work. Roger is spelled
R-O-G-E-R. there’s no ‘D’ in it. Also which is spelled W-H-I-C-H. Overall it sounds like an interesting story.

Plot:
Not bad but you got one thing slightly wrong, does this take place in a small town or big metropolitan city? if it’s a city like Los Angeles then I’d transfer the neighborhood to a rural area, basically near the woods. Wolves typcially DON’T live in places where are a high population of humans. For example in Los Angeles people who live in the hills or wooded areas have coyotes that come into their yards because they live in coyote territory. Second, a wolf would probably kill or harm a dog before it would him or her join a pack but then again wolves do crossbreed with stray dogs. Also your summary is somewhat long try to narrow it down to just 3 to 4 sentences so you don’t give away to much of what goes on.

Character Development:
Not bad, but in the story you might want to give out how what Roger was doing at the time he met the wolves? if Noton is a lone wolf why is he in a pack and why are he and Roger rivals? you might want set it up where Roger is out somewhere and he meets Noton one-on-one. It may be a good idea to research wolf and domestic dog behavior.

Structure:
Will have to read an actual chapter before I can post something about this. But please do include the important details such as character appearance, location and so on.

Tone/Voice:
When writing try to rely more on writing descriptions and such as opposed to diologue. True, diologue is important but try not to write out a story where a majority of what’s written is the characters talking.

I also recommended she get somebody to proofread her work and do research on characters in the fandom she writes for as well as animals in general.
But what I find sort of funny is a lot of things I recommended she do like take a writing class at school she said she couldn’t do because of her Dad. I can understand there’s probably a few reasons behind that but still if it’s something related to school why would a parent not want their kids to do something that will help with their education?

For me, I do research before and during the writing process to make sure the material I use is up-to-code. I also attended a 3 course writers workshop last fall and plan to attend a writers group meeting located at one of the libraries near me. When it comes down to doing things that add on to my education my Dad commends me on it. I also get support from my brother and others. Thanks to suggestions from my Dad and my older brother, I started my own blog two weeks ago which has received 20 hits since it was launched 2 weeks ago.

But anyway what I’ve tried seems to have worked somewhat but I’ve had moments where I felt like I was talking to a brick wall.Don’t get me wrong I enjoy helping people but when a person won’t actually let you help them it gets to be really frustrating.

Anyone here ever had one these days, if so how’d you deal with it?

I haven’t been here for very long, but I know what you mean. Some people just can’t stand criticism, and I guarantee those aren’t the ones who will get published. So if that happens, just smile, shrug it off, and be grateful that you have the intelligence to at least TRY to help people.

Keep up the good work. :)

Dead beat dad? Some advice please?
My ex husband and I were together for five years and had a daughter in October 2008. When I was three months pregnant (May) he decided this wasn’t the life he wanted and told me it was over … yet continued to stay in our home and use me and lead me on until he found someone better (January). He has been gone since then and living with his new girlfriend who doesn’t work and supporting her. He drinks heavily again and although I know I should not I have opened his bank statement I just couldn’t help but wonder where his money could be going since he never had any for his daughter and her needs. He said he couldn’t give me child support in the amount of $250.00 per month which we agreed to upon seperation, and yet according to his bank statement he spent $300.00 on liquior mart and resturants alone in that month. We together had also bought a 50" Plasma TV on Boxing day last year just three weeks before he left for good, he was still making it seem like he wanted to fix things and make it better. He really played with my head and heart these last two years. It’s been a year since the final split and he’s paid less than half of the child support he should have paid me. He also still owes me half the money for the TV we went halvers on also. I live in manitoba and have thought about taking him for maintenance but don’t want to harm his relationship with our daugther, but then again I realize that he doesn’t spend much time with her regardless and shouldn’t care if this drives him further away and perhaps we are that much more better off. I would like to offer him the money that he pitched in when we bought the TV and get it back though, not sure how to go about handling that and also would like to bring it up that if he doesn’t smarten up that I will be taking him to court and his maintenance will fly through the roof as I am being more than lenient with what I am asking for now. Please any advice or ideas you can let me in on would be appreciated. I am not completely sure how to go about doing all this and hate the idea of driving a big angry stake into what is left of our parenting relationship but he’s no help really at all anyways, so I think it’s about time I stopped caring about him and his problems and started focusing on my daughter and our life. I am sick of being his little doormat and refuse to let this go on any more.

Go back to court and have them go after him. He is not complying with the divorce agreement.

1. Undertaker vs Chris Jericho vs CM Punk vs Edge
2. The Big Show vs Batista vs John Cena vs Sheamus
3. Triple H vs Shawn Michaels vs Ted DiBiase vs Cody Rhodes
4. Triple H vs Batista
5. Luke Gallows vs Batista vs Mike Knox vs Kane

And which event is most embarrassing?
1. Jeff Hardy does the Swanton Bomb and misses and lands head first up side down
2. John Cena does the Five Knuckle Shuffle and when he runs to the ropes, he trips and fall over the top rope out side the ring
3. Batista is about to spear Undertaker and misses and throws himself over the second rope out side the ring
4. The Big Show is about to chokeslam Mark Henry and then falls backwards and makes the whole ring explode
5. R-Truth starts his entrance and says "whats down" and then looks down and trips over and falls down before he makes it to the ring

7. Batista does the chop block and misses and throws himself out
One more embarrassing event.

4.rey will inturupt or some one else or batista will uses a chair and itll be a DQ.

5.too boring to waste your money on.

2. John Cena does the Five Knuckle Shuffle and when he runs to the ropes, he trips and fall over the top rope out side the ring.

Definitly #1. Its loaded with wrestlers that have a history with one another.
2. is just a match withe power houses
3. Seems pointless because its 2 vetrans vs 2 rookies and it probably won’t really be a fatel four way.
4. Its been done.
5. Just another match of powerhouse.

1 just sounds really brutal. I think he did that once with whisper in the wind.
The spear outside the ropes have actually been done a lot already.
But the rest are funny. 2,4,3,6,and 7 are pretty much great. I don’t think 6 would be that embaressing, and 4. would just be as awesome as when Lesner superp plex Big Show and the whole ring collapsed. However, 2,5,and 7 would definitly be it cause they are building momentum and then suddenly, they screw it up by tripping.

you need more fiends for raviel you can’t use tokens unless they are fiend type and you don’t have enough also you can’t use scapegoat on any of them since they are tribute summoned but you can use it one destiny hero plasma since it is special summoned so to use it as tribute fodder you need monsters that are special summoned and need tribute not tribute summoned

Is this idea stupid and difficult to follow?
Ok, my idea for a story is a young girl that dies suddenly and it starts off like this:

‘The stories of life and death. Long and short. Boring and interesting. Joyful and heavyhearted. Everyone has one. Every time you breath, as your chest moves in and out, another word is written. Every time your heart beats a new line is taken, every time you sneeze the pen freezes.

I always thought that my story would be long but mundane, happy but not extraordinary; normal. But what we expect is not always what we get. Mine ended all to quickly, all to sudden. I sneezed and the pen froze forever, haunted by the call of a lone magpie.’

I want to use the magpie as some sort of metaphor, the idea is that when she died because it was so sudden and tragic she became trapped on Earth in the body of a magpie. She then gets a ‘bird’s eye View’ of other people’s lives including her family’s and it’s all about how she helps them to enjoy their lives and to get over her death and live life to the fullest. But is that to complicated and odd to understand? What do you think?

It starts well but the main idea reminds me a lot of The Lovely Bones.. Give it another shape and it might be interesting :)

I think any idea is worth pursuing, and this one definitely has a beautiful concept. :)

I don’t really like your beginning. It’s far too choppy, and it’s "breathe" not "breath". I think that it’s okay, but I don’t like it much. I just don’t really like stories with "morals", and "doing good". It bores me to death. And I think that "haunted by the call of a lone raven." would have more effect on your readers rather than using "magpie". I don’t know, but if you’d like to write something like that, write it. It’s your story, and if you want to write it, then feel free to do so. I personally wouldn’t read something like that, and it’s not really complicated at all, to me at least. But I wish you good luck with figuring out what to do, anyway! =]

Actually seems like it could be a good story.
Suggest you keep it mind your story and message and avoid getting mired in too much intricate language.

The concept is a good one, the problem is the way that it’s written.

It’s too Hallmark Card-ish and cliche. Don’t start a story explaining about the story. This isn’t exactly an eye-catcher, because it’s been done waaaay too many times before:

[The stories of life and death. Long and short. Boring and interesting. Joyful and heavyhearted. Everyone has one. Every time you breath, as your chest moves in and out, another word is written. Every time your heart beats a new line is taken, every time you sneeze the pen freezes.]

It’s dull. And sounds like you’re trying too hard to be profound or something, to touch with your readers so they’ll be like, "Yeah. That sounds great" and keep reading. Stop trying to touch your readers and just START THE STORY ALREADY.

Really, that’s the best advice I can give. Start the story when she dies. Or after she’s died. Dive into the story RIGHT when it happens. You’re wasting the readers’ time with the rest of this stuff.

Also: [Mine ended all to quickly, all to sudden.] "To" should be "too."

Good luck with your story. :]

If you see some thing in it then it is not stupid, work with it. adjust it.

Difficult to follow? Smooth it out.

I have talked with a few old people who say that when they die they want to come back as a house pet. Lay in the sun all day and have some one feed you.

Have you ever noticed that birds will cluster on certain sections of power lines? As we run around going to work, paying bills, grocery shopping, watering the lawn so we can mow it more often, they sit there and watch us.
