Here we go yet again with the monopolistic thugs at Comcast. I’ve been noticing that my broadband connection that Comcast is hosing us $70 a month for isn’t even coming close to the speeds I’m paying for. In fact the lag on page loading is so horrendous many servers time out trying to load the page.
Here are the results of the only two speed tests I was able to sucessfully run:

I’m supposed to have the Blast Service which claims to have 16 mps on the downside. Do those numbers look even close to 16 mps? NOT EVEN CLOSE!!
I couldn’t run a full battery of tests because most of the test sites or test applets wouldn’t load. Before anyone even tries to blame Ubuntu Linux let me make it clear I tried to run these tests under Win XP SP3 as well and the pages or applets wouldn’t even load at all so Ubuntu Linux is trying to work with the faulty Comcast connection where Win XP choked.
Here is what Comcast advertises on their web site for Broadband service I’m supposed to have:

Notice what Comcast advertises for a price isn’t what they actually charge you?? How does a service that is advertised at $53 a month cost $70 a month? Comcast speed claims are as bogus as their pricing.

Are we supposed to keep getting gouged on prices and service by the Comcast monopoly just so Comcast can keep bribing Government Authorities to protect their abusive monopoly? Is this legal?
The Federal Election Commission report I posted in an earlier Blog post only shows the bribes to Federal Office holders. I haven’t yet pinned down just how much the monopolist thugs Comcast are bribing State and Local authorities as West Virginia makes that kind of investigating rather difficult. The corrupt politicians in West Virginia are quite good at covering up their corruption and bribery.
