Suggestions on a good book for English?
I need a good book to read for my English class
I can’t seem to find one im interested in
its sposed to be 150-200 pages
certainly no more than 250
things i might like…
it definitely has to have romance between the 2 manl characters
no gay or lesbian
something dealing with a mystery of sorts
i would love to read something where, either the boy or girl is a thief, and they fall for someone who is either trying to catch them, or someone who hides them from the police
and it cant be one-sided love
sorry, but i love romancedont be afraid to give me one of those
and i love magic, so
…i think thats it

things i don’t want to hear:
Speak (we’re reading it in class already)
Twilight (worlds worst book)
any other book dealing with vampires
Harry Potter (i don’t like reading a book ive already seen the movie for)
and book that’s just about a couple girls who are BFFs, then they hate each other, then get back together in the end (honestly, does that interest anybody?
oh, umm, im not teaching. im a 9th grade student. we have to have a book of our choice to read throughout the semester
also, im not looking for a book with 25 main characters all falling in love with each other
1 main pairing
preferably 2 main characters
oh my gosh, a romance story between an angel and human boy would totally get you an easy 10 points!
I’m not against gays and lesbians or anything like that
my favorite show ever (gravitation) is actually about two gay guys and their complicated life together
The reason I don’t want to read one, is because I wouldn’t be able to jump around my English class screaming whenever one of the guys does something adorable
thats just how i get when i read gay/lesbian

Here’s a book by Maggie Stiefvater~ Shiver

Synopsis

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf–her wolf–is a chilling presence she can’t seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It’s her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human–or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Although I find it kind of harsh that you would turn down a gay/lesbian novel Because I read Annie on My Mind and it was a beautiful novel about an uncommon love of two high school girls. So don’t completely isolate yourself from those books unless you’re a homophobe in which people like you just need to get a clue because you’re an arrogant moron. Annie on my mind woke me up to gay/lesbian lovers not that I am gay. And I like those BFF books. I’m ADDICTED to The Clique. I’m also reading L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad and so far, so good.

I don’t know if Great Gatsby would meet the page requirement, but it’s a beautiful story… if you enjoy the Jazz Age and Fitzgerald’s style. The first time I read it, I didn’t get it. I came back to it about three years later and absolutely fell in love with the story. It made me weep.

all books by Meg Cabot are usually good.

this lullaby by sarah dessen >>a wonderful novel!

The Truth about Forever also by Sarah Dessen -it’s a little long…..but the ending is totally worth it"
