Royal Caribbean vs Carnival?
My boyfriend and I are looking for a cruise to go on for our spring break beginning March 1st. We are both 22. We are looking at Royal Caribbean out of Miami that goes to the Bahamas or Carnival out of Miami that goes to Key West & Cozumell. We do like to drink and have fun although we want a clean ship with good food and activities. We want to stick with a 4 or 5 day cruise. Price is not really an issue because we are from Florida and do not have to fly to port. Which cruise would you recommend?

Consider the age and amenities of the particular ships, not just the line. RCCL ships will tend to have more exotic features like climbing walls and flowriders. You won’t find as many high end features like those on Carnival ships. But Carnival tends to be cheaper, and they offer a good cruise experience too. I would not hesitate to go on a newer Carnival ship. Vacationstogo.com has a pretty handy section that shows the amenities on each ship, right down to the number of hot tubs. I recommend it.

Good luck.

 ideas | Feb 05, 2010

Royal Caribbean is probably going to be more family-oriented than Carnival, especially because it is spring break. Although, Carnival tends to be a bit cheaper, so many families choose them as well. Carnival is a bit more of a party ship, though, so it is probably more up your alley.

Most people consider Royal Caribbean a better class of a cruise line. They say Carnival it the party cruise line.
Jimmy B | Feb 03, 2010

Royal Caribbean is widely considered a "step up" from Carnival! Time is getting very short, however, so you need to book NOW!
Mary | Feb 03, 2010

this is a toss up during spring break time ..go with the best deal.
good luck
1Cheapcruise | Feb 03, 2010

I suggest Royal Caribbean. The ships are among the most equipped out of all the lines. Fun things like, rock-walls and Ice skating is available on most Royal ships. You can expect Outstanding entertainment, great food and good cabin stewards. I see a great deal on a 4-night cruise with Royal on March 4, starting at $279pp. Thats a great deal. See that deal and more at http://vacationstogo.com/
Free to sign up and worth it!

Hope I helped!
Lets cruise! | Feb 03, 2010

personal i would chose Royal Caribbean over Carnival. They have better EVERYTHING and i do mean it the food, shows, activities and staff is so much better. If you go on The navigator or Independence of the seas there is an ice rink for shows plenty of bars food and activities. There is also a promenade where you can get food 24/7. I don’t know how much of an issue you would consider for price but i would deff. conside the Oasis!.. amazing ship
Jessica | Feb 03, 2010

Royal Caribbean is usually a step up from Carnival, but after being on both cruise lines several times, I noted that Royal Caribbean has gone done in food quality and variety. Its not just my opinion as I’ve talked to a lot of other people and they said the same thing. It use to be real good a few years back but now its not as good.
lisamisc | Feb 04, 2010

i have heard the food on royal is not as good as carnival also…
Dan the brick man | Feb 04, 2010

Take the Carnival. Cozumel and Key West will be much more fun for younger people than the Bahamas.

Have you given up on religion altogether, after having tried to go to church after church?
In the past three years, I have been to about a dozen different churches. Here are some of my observations and reasons for leaving them:

1. One man does all of the talking, while no one else is allowed to express his or her feelings or experiences openly.
2. Money seems to be a motivating factor in social relationships within some churches, especially how much time a preacher wants to spend with you.
3. Authenticity is pushed aside, and gives way to phony smiles, fained and pained greetings, and the absence of sincerity during typical conversations.
4. One’s personal beliefs are in conflict with ideas stated by people within the church.
5. Being treated like a stupid person.
6. People faining to be weak and meek.
7. The environment itself actually creates a degree of internal tension, bringing one further away from internal peace and understanding.
8. People are encouraged to hide their truest feelings for fear of being ostricized, ridiculed, or rejected by others in the church environment.
9. Conformity takes presidence over individuality.
10. The rote rituals bring forth no real meaning.
11. New ideas that are brought forth are immediately rejected out of hand, because they did not come from the leaders of the church.
12. The chain of leadership, politics, seems to rule over that which is right.

I know that Christianity is not all bad, but quite frankly I’ve had it with churches altogether. I get nothing out of it, except for heartaches and dissapointments.

 Welcome to reality.
Point #2 is actually Rule #1.
ungodly | Feb 07, 2010

Glad to see that you can pick on those things, most people can’t.
Belphegor | Feb 07, 2010

I moved onto other religions. Christianity is not the only one out there.
Using it’s word processor, speakers and microphone the computer learns to communicate with Miles and they become friends as he teaches it about life. In the end the computer concludes that it doesn’t have a chance with the woman and wishes the couple a happy life together. classical I had a (wonderful) teacher. With electric guitar, I’ve been self taught. I’ve played electric guitar for nearly half my life but never had a proper teacher.
Snape and his memories……….?
So I was reading the 7th Harry Potter book for the third time and I had finished Chapter 33, The Prince’s Tale. I know why Rowling had all those memories throughout the chapter. She wanted us to understand snapes position. She wanted us to see why Harry’s eyes were mentioned and to help us see why snape was a spy. However, If we were to just go from snapes perspective. In all the memories Dumbledore only instructed Snape to let harry know he is an accidental horcrux and that he is to die at the hands of voldy when voldy seems to fear for his snake. Why is it that snape chose to give Harry all those other memories about his mom and their friendship, the tears he shed in grimauld place, the letter, and his many meetings with Dumbledore? So lets have fun with this and answer why we think snape, if snape were real would reveal so much more of himself than just what dumbledore instructed him too.

Up until that point Harry thought that Snape was a loyal servant of Voldemort. One of the biggest questions throughout the books is, "Why does Dumbledore trust Snape?" The question is broached many times, especially in the fifth and sixth books. The answer is usually, "Dumbledore must have a reason to trust Snape, and we must trust Dumbledore." (I think Hermione even once says to Ron that Dumbledore must have plenty of evidence that Snape has reformed, even if he doesn’t choose to share it with him.)

Anyway, if Snape only showed Harry the conversation with Dumbledore saying that Harry had to let himself be killed by Voldemort, it is very likely that Harry would not believe it. (Who WOULD?) Snape had to regain Harry’s trust–he had to explain why he was loyal to Dumbledore and the Order. And the only way to do that would be to share his memories of Lily. And he had to prove that everything he did–even killing Dumbledore–was justified.

 | Oct 04, 2009

I think that Snape wanted Harry to see why he acted the way he did and why he was the way he was. Personally, I think he did it so that Harry would know that he wasn’t that bad of a guy. Yea, he didn’t really care for Harry because he represented James and Lily’s relationship but still.
~~It's Me!~~ | Oct 04, 2009

Well I think he shared more than he was instructed to because he either wanted to help or hurt Harry. It could be pleasant to Harry’s memory or he could think about it too much and get focused on that other than what he was supposed to be focusing on.
Erika Hannah | Oct 04, 2009

I think that Snape showed Harry this because he wanted let everyone know that he was not a bad guy. I also think that Snape show Harry that had he, Snape, not gotten it to the dark arts, that he could have been Harry’s dad.

How do I fix my relationship with my dad?
Lets see here, I am 19 and my dad is 46. We had a really good relationship up until I was about 10, then things started to go down. It didn’t go down fast at first, the big increase probably started around 12 when my mother died. In 7th grade my dad kicked me out and I lived with my grandparents (motherside) for about half the year, then I got to move back in. One of the problems we have is trust, I can’t trust him with anything, cause as soon as I tell him, everyone knows. I’ll even say, Dad, please don’t tell anyone about this. He says, ok, then I tell him and he tells people. I wanna say at the end of 16 going on 17 me and my dad started to make noticeable progress. Then he gets remarried, now I don’t have a problem with this as long as it makes him happy. Except for the fact that his new wife treats me like crap. She puts her girls over me and my brother. Ok, understandable, they are her daughters but she gets my dad to do the same thing. She controls my dad, she didn’t like our dog, so she told my dad it had to stay outside even when it was like blizzarding outside. When we went on a vacation to Deytona, Florida she convinced my dad to send me on bus ride home all the way back to IN.She did that by convincing him that I was trying to sneak out to a club, when I wasn’t even really capable of doing so. So when I was 17 she convinced him to kick me out and I ended up living with my sister. Well, now I am in the Air Force, making a living, making something good out of something bad. I spend thousands of dollars traveling back home to try and fix things with him and each time I come back, she gets in the way. Came back for highschool graduation ceremony, she gets him to flip out at me for using the restroom in their house when I came by to pick up my luggage cause the airport lost it. Thanksgiving, we are going to take a family picture, the whole family is there, I have to leave in 10 min. to go spend time with my gf family. I let my dad know but he said we had to wait for a friend to come so he could be in picture too. I told him that I had to go in 10 min and that we would need to take it before then or I wouldn’t be in it. Well, I wasn’t in it cause we were waiting for a non family member to come for our family picture! Then Christmas, he has all these days off, you’d think he would set up times for us to spend some time together, after all I’ve spent thousands of dollars traveling up there…nope. One time we went out to Chipotle, I tried to tell him how I felt and I didn’t feel he was trying to have a relationship with me, his response was to deny that, to deny how I felt and say my feelings were wrong and he was trying. What should I do? Do I give up? He says he wants a relationship, but I don’t see it or feel it. Should I just try to buddies with him? Does that mean we have to have stuff in common? I just really want a father figure and I don’t know how to one.

You need to try one last time. And make it clear to him that this is really the last time. This is an attention getter. Make sure you guys will be at a place where you wont be distracted, you guys are alone, and cell phones, computers…etc won’t get in the way.

You need to tell your father how your mother’s death really took a toll in your relationship to begin with. Your biggest issue is trust. You are the only one you have to trust, the only parent he has left, and if you can’t trust him, you’re better off without him in your life as a father and guardian. All you’ve ever wanted is his happiness even if that meant kissing your sanity goodbye by re-marrying. Point out all these things you wrote here to him, theses especific times you’ve felt he did you wrong (and that witch he married). He needs to be your audience. He needs to be the one giving you these answers. His wife migh be everything to him, but remind him of your mother. Out of respect to your mother, he should not let his new wife get in the way of your relationship with him. You’ve been supportive of his decisions and he should be supportive of wanting to change things with him and make them better. It is selfish and cruel how he doesn’t seem to care about you or making things better with you and he can’t deny it. You just cannot ignore this. You dont have to have stuff in common but you are his son and that you will always have in common. He’s a son as well. Keep this friendship open and flexible if you feel you can forgive him, if not, you don’t have to forgive him. If you need a fatherly figure, find it elsewhere. Your grandpa, an older friend, an old folks home… blood-ties mean nothing unless you feel loved, cared for, and that you can trust. Fathers unfortunately tend to deny what hurts most. I don’t quite know why…maybe it’s their defense mechanism but this is ridiculous and it hurts. He’s scared of opening up to you. Maybe he hasn’t quite healed all the way. You are not wrong. Feelings are like opinions: no right or wrong. It’s what u feel.

Wow, that’s a story! It sounds like she has him wrapped around her finger, I think if you build a relationship ith your stepmom to becoming not targets of eachother she will loosen up and then it will work your way on your dad.

How do you smuggle 30kg of drugs out of the islands without getting blown up on scarface for the wii?
can anybody help? im playing scarface on the wii and im having trouble smuggling 30kg drugs out off the islands to my store house cos i keep getting shot up by the guard boats, the boat i am giving to smuggle the drugs dont seem to be fast enough ANY idears?

 Yeah,

There is no cheat that I could see so far. However, I always look for a map of the empire to try to find where the boat repair wretch is. Even though they are sometimes out of the way, it helps to repair your boat when and during attacks

Try to drive your boat, and veere hard left or right away from the smugglers when you see any sign of them on the horizon. If you do it quick enough, they won’t see you.

Also, try to get the Mac 10 or the Carbine rifle. Those guns damage the pirate boats faster, so you can blow there boats up, and assess less damage.

Like I said, there is no easy way, but I’m sure you’ll build your drug empire just fine. Good luck.

Need Help With Internet Connection Speed…?
Alright, so recently I moved in with the love of my life and everything is going great but the Internet has been acting very funny since about November/December. I mean it’s not a problem because we have found ways around it but we feel our ISP is lucky we’ve found ways around the problems rather than them ever actually coming out to address it.

We live in the middle of nowhere and use DSL so we don’t expect the connection speed to be blazing but the speed has clearly deteriorated from the original speed.

When we connect the router(Siemens Speedstream 6520 Model) to the computer via the USB port and install the drivers we get our fastest connection speed. This includes faster than connecting via an Ethernet cord which I’m told should not be the case.

Additionally, any time the wireless connection is used we also get a faster speed. For instance, when I use my laptop’s wireless connection it’s faster than the wired connection and when I borrow a wireless adapter for my Xbox 360 the connection speed is immensely faster than the wired connection. My understanding is that this should not be the case either as wired connections should always be faster than their wireless counterparts.

So to reiterate…

Siemens Speedstream 6520 Router
Wireless Connection faster than Wired Connection
USB Connection faster than Ethernet Chord Connection

Does anybody know, from these limited details, what might be the matter?
Edit:

Only hard numbers I could get were for the USB connection…

My Laptop isn’t here and the Wired Ethernet Chord connection couldn’t even load the page…

USB Speed:
Dowload – 1289 kbps
Upload – 327 kbps

 Speed tests?
Need hard numbers as tangible evidence.

Are you sure you’re connecting to your own AP?
