How can my friend & I convince her parents to let her travel with me & parents to Canada?
we’re in the middle east & she has an american passport and I have a canadian passport; my parents have canadian passports too.

this summer, my parents and i (i’m an only child) are moving back to canada, and my best friend lives in Egypt (I live in UAE) we don’t get to see each other much but we talk online. since I’m moving it will be harder to keep in touch so we want to spend summer together.

her parents travel here sometimes and she has stayed with me for like 2 weeks in a row, 10 days in a row, etc etc with parent’s permission.

the trip: we will be going to canada where we have a safe, secure home where she will be staying with us. we will be in toronto, and will travel to quebec (road trip) and prince edward island where we will stay in hotels. the airfare will most likely be near to free because my cousin owns and flies a plane so she will take us. my friend can call her parents every day and she definitely won’t get lost as I know where to go and so do my parents.

how do we convince her parents to allow her? my parents will face-to-face speak to them when she visits again (end of Januaryish) but some tips would be great.

Well.. i guess its all depending on the face 2 face talk between your parents

as her parents allow her to stayover in ur place while they are in UAE i suppose they are a lil open minded (but there’s a huge difference for allowing her to fly to canda out of there sight)
Their main concern would be about their daughter’s safty…

SO:
- your parents should make her parents have full trust at them
- Use the influnce of the mothers (as in women talk)
- you should present a detailed schedule about where you would be everyday and state that you and her aren’t goin to hangout without your parents (even if ur goin to,,they shouldnt kno i guess;) )
- Dont highlight the idea of ur parents well to pay for the tickets (as u kno – the pride, degnity and that stuff) but ur friend could mention it few times before the face2face talk – also i think your parents should Say that they are welling to do it as she is like you and she’s mostly their daughter also .

Yes actually, later in Mozart’s life, Beethoven (I think he was sixteen), came to him and asked Mozart to teach him. Mozart was hesitant at first because at the time he was this superstar and a lot of people asked him for his help. But Beethoven played for him and he was really good, so they made an appointment. But then Beethoven’s mom got seriously ill and he had to leave town to go see her. So yeah they met but only briefly.

Short answer is probably yes, during the Spring of 1787. Beethoven was young (16) and Mozart was in his later years (he die in 1791). Beethoven stayed in the town where Mozart was for about 2 weeks, but it’s not clear if he ever got the lessons he was seeking or if he was simply rejected and sent home. The sources suggest that Beethoven went home because of his mother’s health.

According to one of my theory professors, Mozart did meet Beethoven towards the end of his life, when Beethoven was still relatively young. His response was essentially "Keep an eye on him. He’s something special." Wikipedia seems to have a different story, though.

Yes. Beethoven studied with him and Haydn in Vienna. Beethoven played for him and he was amazed. I believe it was 1787 when Beethoven was 17 and Mozart was about 31. You can read up on it here:

Son of Godzilla (1967) IMDB rating: 4.70 Plot: A group of scientists are on tropical Solgel Island in the Pacific to conduct weather control experiments. Just before they begin, they find giant preying mantases measuring 25 feet tall called Kamakaras. I’m a small time film-editor and I’ve been given a small project to make a video using AE. My first thought that would be cool to use in this video is to have actual footage from big movies (Christmas movies like Elf, Fred Claus and stuff like that since the theme is christmas). I work for a company that does media so I AM getting paid for this. Can I use it? If yes, do I need to put a copyright note at the bottom or something like that?

If you use ANY copyrighted footage online, it can/will be DMCA’d right off the Internet by the copyright holders. on Yahoo (bless their hearts….NOT!) they can even close your ENTIRE account!
