Good first Dickens novel?
Im a somewhat prolific reader, not as much as i’d like but i read enough and one of the authors on my list to read is Dickens and has been there for quite some time. Ive read Christmas Carol when i had a spare hour or so and thoroughly enjoyed the writing though i know its probably not indicative of Dickens generally. Anyway i was wondering what a good first novel of his would be to read? Tale of Two Cities, Old Curiosity Shop, Great Expectations? I know them all which is probably why i dont know which one to go for.

Tale of Two Cities is amazing. The plot is rich, the setting is very historic (French Revolution), and the characters really grow on you. My favorite Dickens novel.

Not on your list of interests but if I was to go back I would say that Oliver Twist is a good Dickens book to start with. Happy Reading.
