I Have a Tendency to Make Myself Laugh | |
I Give Your Mom 5 Months!Wow! Well before I get into my weekend update I feel as though there’s a subject I need to address. See my fiancé and I are not, as my prior post may have led you to assume, fighting. In fact we both aren’t big on fighting, we rarely fight with any of our friends or family (except Wiley… I fight with him). When I said he was being mean I was just throwing some things at him. While your prayers are always appreciated I just want to you all to know that we are doing great!
With that aside I guess it’s time for the weekend update! Friday: Friday started off bitter sweet. Last Friday was my official last day with Caleb Calvin. Yup that’s right, no more butt wiping, no more Emperors/Kronks New Groove, no more playing kitty; because little Caleb is going to a pre preschool. Yup, it’s time for my little friend to get an education. Where does that leave me then you may ask? That leaves both Vincent and I with Fridays off! Really all that means is we will have a day that we can register and look at stuff. It’s not always necessary (because he needs to have a day off plus he has school stuff he needs to do) but it will be nice to have the day available to do things like that. Vincent works both Saturday and Sunday so we wouldn’t be able to do all the wedding stuff on the weekend. Anyway back to Friday: Caleb and I played for a while, watched Chicken Little and then set off to Wal-Mart to buy eggs and candy for our churches 9th annual Easter egg hunt! I had Caleb sit in the shopping cart while I piled empty eggs and bags of candy on him. It was hysterical! He was just this little head poking out of a cart full of Easter stuff. Then when we would walk by people he would scream at them and scare them… it was beyond funny! After Wal-Mart we went to the school to pick up Jessica because she had a half-day. Once we finally got home we went straight to stuffing eggs. It was… a whole lot of work; but between Jessica, Caleb and I we stuffed nearly 1,000 Easter eggs. They worked so hard that they exhausted themselves. So by the time they got to Dave’s house (who watches them sometimes after 5:00pm if the Calvin’s are running late) they were so grumpy. I didn’t feel too bad though, Dave should get use to grumpy kids! Then Vincent and I set off for dinner. Yes, because incase you didn’t know last Friday our parents and siblings met for the first time! Scary right? Actually wrong! I wasn’t even worried or nervous at all. I know my family and am starting to get to know his and I felt as though they would really get along. Especially our moms, I really thought they would hit it off! It turns out that they did. Both families were there in full force (minus Shayla and Antoine) and dinner went great. They couldn’t seat us all together so we sat near each other. The guys were in one booth and the girls were in another. Overall the dinner was a success and I feel like both families got along well. After dinner we went back to the dorm hung out and watched Father of the Bride and went home.
Saturday: Go SIC! Saturday we had the 9th annual Pratt Park Easter Easter_Egg Hunt! It went well. The kids had a blast and it didn’t hardly rain (which in its self was a miracle). All I really did was sing a song and help out where I could. Before we all knew it the whole thing was over and I was back at the dorm having lunch and relaxing before Vincent went to work and I chilled at home. Sunday: Yup, you guessed it Sunday was busy! Due to daylight savings time (I will never understand why changing the time is necessary) I lost an hour of sleep… that and only half my choir showed up to mic check. Eventually everyone came (even the sound man) and we got to checkin! Church was great, Bishop preached about not being lazy. I love the way Bishop delivers the word, he will pretty much call you out, make fun of the areas you need to work on, and then compel you to change. Not only are you convicted but you’re also entertained! I don’t know how to explain it other than that! The man is funny! After church Vincent and I had lunch before he went off to work. Then I went home, changed and headed off to the church staff party at the Calvin’s. It was really just good family time. We hung out, ate food and watched the Super Nanny marathon. Sounds exciting huh? Really it was exactly what we all needed… REST! After the party I went home and rested some more before getting a call from Vincent. After talking to him for about an hour we hung up and I turned on the TV only to see that The Wedding Singer was on. So I watched it and got all sappy feeling when he came out and sang to her on the plane… Ahh… So that was pretty much it. Yup… I don’t have much to say otherwise. Except today is Vincent and my 6th month anniversary. Yeah, it doesn’t seem like we’ve been together for half a year but it’s the truth. I guess that’s it. Have a good day, leave a comment, peac(th)e out Napoleon. Linz Leave a Comment .. Trackback { Last Page } { Page 22 of 203 } { Next Page } |
