Expectation With a Shadow of Apprehension

I just spent the better part of my day (in my free time from work that is) typing out the new songs for camp. In doing so the realization hit me that this will be my first big event that I will be leading without my safety net (Jo-Anna/Chris). I know that it really isn’t something that I should worry about that much. I mean I’ve done well so far (or at least I think so) but there is still a little bit of apprehension there. I’m sure I’ll feel better after our first rehearsal (tonight). After tonight I find out what I have to work with. A bit of anxiety is always good for me though. When I get nervous or worried that something isn’t going to go right it sends me into deep communication with the Lord. And when it comes to camp… well you can never have too much prayer. I’m so ready for a break through with our youth. And God is going to move at this camp. I am excited for some of the songs that we are doing too. God has given me visions of us singing certain songs all year and this year I finally get a chance to put my song ideas out there (and they go through)! Please keep me in your prayers as I attempt to teach these songs (still my weak point). And keep Nu Image summer camp in your prayers as well. I’m expecting God to do great things. I love those pre camp jitters you get a few weeks before camp. I’m sure you could compare it to an old couple going on their second honeymoon. It’s not like they haven’t been intimate but that anticipation of being alone together for a week keeps them excited. That’s how I feel right now. Usually I go to camp and I prepare my spirit to minister. And while this year I am doing that; I feel that for some reason I’m going to get something this year that's just for me. It’s exciting when God gives you that little tease feeling in your chest that He has something for you. For those of you who are going to camp this year (whether it be with Nu Image or some other church) I would encourage you to get excited. God has something for you. And even if you’re not going somewhere you should expect that God has something for you this summer. It’s your level of expectation that will get you to your blessing. If you’re not motivated you wont push for anything. But when you have expectation God will blow your mind. Get ready! Linz
