I Have a Tendency to Make Myself Laugh

My Jam-Packed, Adventure Filled Weekend

Well here it comes your weekend up date…. This weekend was really busy… no joke man. Well starting Friday night I got my hair cut. Chopped… severed… but in a good way. I love it, it makes me look older which I love and it takes no time to dry and style. I’m low maintenance so that makes me very happy. The only down side is I noticed after church on Sunday that it puffs a bit after profuse sweating… that’s the price you pay when you’re a worship leader though: after church everyone still looks great while you look like you’ve run a marathon (anyone who says praise and worship isn’t a work out has never REALLY got their praise on!). After my haircut I went to visit my friend Stephany (cuz she works right down the street). We ended up hanging out which rocked cuz it had honestly been too long. We went to Qdoba and I now officially have a new favorite meal there. Next time you go to Qdoba get queso (I totally spelt that wrong) sauce… it is amazing… anyway that was my Friday night. I went home after that and hung out in Linz and Holly and watched Diary of a Mad Black Woman (great movie) and went to bed.

Saturday was a much bigger deal. I woke up and attempted for the first time to style short hair (I think I did alright) and got ready for the Nubian Jam. We got there early and Minister Jo-Anna’s group performed first. They did awesome (as per usual) I love how they sound together. I was hoping to hear more of Jackie though… oh well next time. Then the SIC worship team sang. Before we sang Bishop asked us to sing an extra song and Minister Paul and I thought “No problem” and we opened the set with “I Command My Soul” everyone loves that song… anyway everything sounded amazing. I told my choir that I didn’t think we were going to do as well as we did. The choir just threw down! I was so proud of them. Then at the end of the set Bishop comes up and says, “Do you want to hear one more???” And that… sucked… Between Minister Paul and the choir (full of new people) there were few songs that we knew/did well. We finally pulled out “You Are Good” which went well. Towards the end of the song I got a few mixed signals. One guy with a badge was telling me to stretching it out long (like keep going) when he saw I was about to end. Then another guy (with a badge) gave me the wrap it up sign… I didn’t know what to do. So I ended it and Bishop came back up. It was just funny; I explained to the guys later that I was getting two different signals and I was confused. So after that I spent the next few hours chillin… that and watching some drunk guy dance with an imaginary woman (one word AWESOME). I also bought “Medea’s Family Reunion” which I was stoked to watch… unfortunately I think someone who got into my purse (with permission) accidentally left it out so when I left I didn’t know it wasn’t in there (did that make sense??).  anyway then I went shopping… which wasn’t nearly as fun as it would have been if I wasn’t so tired. Then I went home and chilled.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday… Sunday was nuts. First I had my first staff prayer experience. All I have to say is that I love Pastor Julia. She loves pushing people and challenging them to grow. Prayer was powerful. And consequently service was powerful. It’s awesome because God just keeps movin. I just love how everything has been working out. Then Ayasia, Dartavious and I went to Toys R Us to pick out one toy each… well I got candy. Then we went to their home…. Then I had a meeting… then I watched a movie… that I ended up leaving to have another meeting… you gotta love camp. Well that was my jam-packed, adventure filled weekend. Linz
