I Have a Tendency to Make Myself Laugh

Back to the Middle

I just have a few things to talk about today. First of all: Vonzell (AI) was just voted out last night. So this season for me will be a lose – lose. I mean don’t get me wrong I do like Bo but he isn’t amazing. And I for sure do not like Carrie… she annoys me.

Moving on… I don’t want to stay there too long. I went to Cheryl’s bridal shower last night. This one was thrown by her mother’s church. And everyone there (with the exception of the children and Cheryl’s sisters) were between the ages of their late thirties to their mid fifties. To put this more in perspective Cheryl is 21. It was just funny to me. But despite the age difference the party was fun. And the cake… the cake was AMAZING! I literally ate it in under 2 minutes. Man… I should have savored it… oh well live and learn.

So I missed church last night to go to the shower. It was so nice. Now don’t get me wrong I love church but I think I really needed a night off. Pastor Julia has now relived me from leading on Wednesdays so I just get to receive. At first I was kinda bummed cuz I love leading worship and I didn’t know how much I would really want to just sit back and ministered to. But the more I think about it the more I am excited for what God is going to do in that time.

I had my early Morning Prayer wake up call from Jess really late this morning… so late in fact that I was already awake (and getting ready) when she called. The sad thing was the Lord had woke me up at five this morning and I rolled over and went back to sleep thinking Jess would call in an hour. Anyone reading this I would encourage you to do what God says. Even though you think you have a better plan (like Jess waking me up at six) God knows it all… and you could… for lack of better words screw yourself if you don’t just suck it up and do what He says the first time.

I’ve been listening (almost religiously) to my new India Arie CD. There is an amazing song on it called “Back to the Middle”. It has really been hitting me hard lately (as in the past few minutes). We as humans are so desperate to succeed and we are so desperate to grow into something great that we go to extremes to achieve victory. Christians are a prime example of this. They go to this huge extreme of what they think is righteousness but then they end up shutting real people out and become arrogant. Respectively people’s views of Christians are similar. I have a lot of friends that ***ume (I didn't edit the stars in... they did... funny) just because I serve God and strive for Godliness that I am not relatable in anyway. It’s time that we quit with all these extremes. Christians am I saying that you need to compromise what you believe? No. To anyone else who thinks that I am expecting you to change who you are you have misunderstood. All I’m saying is that we need to come back to the middle.  Linz
