I Have a Tendency to Make Myself Laugh | |
Well I LaughedDisclaimer: I did not spell check or read this over so please be kind I’M BACK! Where did I go? Well nowhere… I just had one of those weeks. You know what I mean? It just was one thing after another; and while I probably could have written everyday like always… there is just something’s that you shouldn’t publish on a public domain. I do have to have some sort of private life. That, thankfully, is now all behind me. This weekend was great and really made up for the tough week. So I guess I will just jump into it… Friday: Friday was really the end of the crazy ridiculous, why did I go through this week. I went to work and got to leave early because the phones just weren’t ringing. So I leave early, get home, and start preparing for my date with WU. It was nice because I got home so early that I could really take my time. This was the first date we’ve had where we really had to dress up (we were going to a friends birthday party at a nice restaurant). When WU finally got there (he was a bit late due to traffic) we set off downtown. Traffic wasn’t that bad going south but we took my super cool greenlake short cut. I didn’t think we were going to make it on time… but sure enough come 7:00 we were pulling into the parking garage. We noticed that on our way in we didn’t see any familiar cars so we called to see where everyone was. Needless to say… they were late. So we decided to go on a little drive. Then we decided to go down to the center (the Seattle Center for those of you who aren’t hip on the SeaTown lingo)… then I saw it… and laughed. Okay so I’m one of those people who have been so programmed by Americas Funniest Home Videos that I will (without fail… for the most part) laugh anytime someone falls. Like when Pastor Schott fell up the stairs that one Christmas Eve and everyone was concerned… I was stifling laughter. I don’t apologize for my sense of humor. If it offends you that is unfortunate, but I just have to laugh. Anyway we were walking at the center (on our way to get some fudge) and we saw this little toddler running. Vincent made a comment about him so I was watching him closely. All of a sudden this baby just falls. Just biffs it right on his face. Actually it looked a lot like he was doing the worm… and what did I do in response to this little 1.5er falling? I laughed… not just a giggle… it was that uncontrollable, can’t breathe, couldn’t stop if you tried laughing. What else could I have done? THE BABY WAS DOING THE WORM! Apparently that’s kind of rude. I guess it is, but where I’m at right now in my humor… it was only expected. Anyway after the break dancing baby we got our fudge (chocolate mint) and made our way back to the restaurant. The party was fun and the food was awesome. After dinner we made our way back to the UW to work on our puzzle. You know early on I was really doing a lot of the connecting when it came to the puzzle; but Friday was really WU’s time to shine. I just couldn’t get the job done that night. I think I only connected like… 6 pieces. It was sad but we worked it out. Then I went home and went to sleep (how exciting)… Saturday: This Saturday was Adopt-a-block day! WU wasn’t working because he had a final so I slept in an extra 10 minutes (there was no real need for a starbucks). Then I picked up Holly and we went to the church. Adopt-a-block went well. A lot of my Metro Kidz tagged along and helped pick up garbage and hand out fliers. Then after that I went to the UW to again work on the puzzle… oh and to see my morethanaboyfriend. So we puzzled, watched movies and ate. It was really relaxing! Then I went home again… and guess what? I went to sleep (oh to live my life). Sunday: Sunday was Sunday, which means it was awesome. Church was so powerful. From the pre-service prayer to the closing God was moving. People were surrendering their life to God and even worshiping without prompting. I love Sundays like that. Those are the services that confirm to you that people really do love the Lord and they’re not just there out of routine. After church I had a meeting, which went well. Then WU and I went to leave… we were detained for a bit but we made it out alive. As Mr. Vincent was escorting me to my car I happened to look up at the birds flying overhead. I also happened to see a large wad of bird feces cascading towards my head. Like a hero I dodged the clump of… well you know what it was. I thought I had made it out safe until I saw it. The bird had tagged the edge of my jacket. He got WU too. So we went back into the church and cleaned off. It was funny and we laughed it off. We didn’t get hit too badly so it was all good. I finally got in my car and started to make my long trek back to Lynnwood. As I was pulling out of my church I noticed that there was something nasty on my steering wheel. Yeah I didn’t get it all. The bird had hit more than just the edge of my coat. He got my sleeve too (yeah the one with the fur). So I had to take off my jacket and find something to wipe the… I’m going to vomit… wipe the stuff off my wheel. I sped home and cleaned it all up. Ate some food and got ready for church. Back I went to SIC for leading ladies. The evening’s theme was “My Favorite Things”. Pastor Julia gave away jewelry, coupons for facials and make up, perfume, and (drum roll please) a Coach purse. The word was so good. She preached about delivery. She used the Christmas story as an example. Mary probably wasn’t so excited when she first heard that she was going to be pregnant but she never tried to abort what God gave her. It was a good word. The giveaways were cool. Everyone who got a big gift (like a gift certificate to a really nice restaurant or the Coach purse) really deserved it. After church I hung out for a bit with Jess and then called WU… and then called it a night. Which brings me to today. This morning was great because I let myself sleep in (I don’t need clean hair on a Monday). I woke up and gave myself 20 minutes to get ready, which was more than enough time. However, every once in a while when I get ready really fast I will get to work, look at my outfit, and think… huh… yeah today is one of those days. I mean it’s not like I look all crazy or anything, but if I was in my right mind I would have never put this ensemble together. I also couldn’t find my signature perfume so I had to settle for another scent. I didn’t want to go back to my Light Blue today so I took it all the way back… to my sophomore year of high school. Oh yeah Ralph Lauren Romance was where it was at! So here I am: sitting at my computer, recapping my weekend, looking… well different to say the least and smelling like the 15 year old version of myself. Today has definitely had an interesting start. Hopefully someone will read this today and will have found something that I have said funny. If not then… well I laughed. Leave a Comment ..
