It's Christmas Time... And I'm Blogging!Disclaimer: This is another long entry that I got too lazy to read over… so be kind!
Well Christmas has come and gone and here I am attempting to write another amazingly awesome recap blog. I must start by saying that this is my first blog entry ever written from an off site location. I am in fact writing this blog from a whole different state. Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to Friday: … Friday was Christmas Eve… Eve! Vincent picked me up early and we went to the wonderful Java Inn (go Snohomish) to open up each others presents and to kinda have “our Christmas” together. It was fun. He liked my gift which was awesome… cuz I really worked hard on it for him. The gift he got me was really thoughtful. As you all know I have nothing to do most of the time and he gave me some time passers that will keep my days busy… well lets just say I shouldn’t be getting bored anytime soon! He also got me a brick: “On This We Build Will” don’t even try to figure out what that means! Side Note: My grandma’s computer only has dial up so everything I do takes a ridiculous amount of time. Example: I’m checking my myspace as I write this. Every time I click to go somewhere I come back here and write a paragraph and maybe, if I’m lucky, it’s finally gotten where I need it to be! Go dial up! Back to Friday: After we did our gift exchange we just hung out, went through one of his old boxes that had just a bunch of stuff he saved throughout his senior year. Yes Mel, he is a bit of a pack rat, but he wants to change and that’s all that matters! Finally, after we were done at Java Inn we visited my pal Daniel (if you went to school with me and even more so if you sang in the choir you know who Daniel is and you love him with all your heart)! So seeing Daniel again was cool! Then we went to my parent’s house and started our “Christmas Eve” with them. My mom made her amazing steak and we decorated our Christmas tree. I could go on and on about Friday… but the more and more I write the more and more I realize it’s Wednesday and I still have a long way to go. So I’m gonna cut some of these days a bit short… cuz no one wants to spend an hour and a half reading a blog entry. Saturday: Christmas Eve… which was really Christmas with the Parkers. I tried to sleep in. I tried to sleep period. However, if you have been to my house and slept in my bed, you will understand that I have the best bed in the world. Pretty much anything else is a cheap imitation. Needless to say I didn’t sleep well. In fact I was up and out of bed by 6:00. It was all good though because my dad (who doesn’t sleep well either) was already up and chillin on the couch. So I joined him and had some good daddy daughter time. Eventually everyone woke up (really early) and we all opened up our presents. I did well this year; walking away with a Vacuum, a George Forman grill, and new comforter and a Duvet cover. There was a lot of other stuff too… but again I want you to finish this before we ring in the New Year! After presents I cleaned up and the boys went to work on my brother’s new bench… yeah they’ve never really put anything together in their whole lives… they did a good job it just took forever. Then after a long day of relaxing we went to my mom’s church for their candle light Christmas Eve service. It was a good service. I forgot how short services can be. That one was a clean 45 minutes… I know… we could never do that. It’s all good though that’s just not our calling! Anyway it was fun. Then we drove around and eventually found ourselves outside my door. Sunday: The real Christmas day! Yup! I woke up early and got all ready for church! I was excited because this was the first time that Vincent was going to be picking me up and taking me to church! As usual he was right on time! He looked good too! If you saw him on Sunday you know what I mean… and if you REALLY saw him you know the fullness of that last sentence! Moving on… I got to church and did my whole run around. Toys for Tots donated even more toys so we did another give away. It was good. Every kid in the congregation got to take home 5 toys! I was so blessed because one of my Metro Kidz won a bike and 2 of my kids (both I know are Muslim) accepted Jesus in their hearts. That really blessed me, because those kids really need his peace. After church Vincent and I left immediately (like literally right after service… it was a miracle) and we went to The Seed of Abraham (the church he grew up in). We caught pretty much the tail end of the service, but it was a good service none the less. We got to hear his dad’s men’s choir sing two selections; and we also got to hear the entire sermon! The service was great, but it was only 2:00 and we were exhausted. Still on we went. Visiting families, opening presents and watching movies! Side Note: I’m really excited because the Humphreys got me tickets to go see the Mary Mary concert in February! I wasn’t going to be able to go so I kinda checked it off as something I wouldn’t get to do… but now I get to go and I’m very excited! Back to Sunday: The rest of Christmas was good; but definitely very different (I’m going to try to keep this short). The thing I love about the Humphrey house is that there is such a strong sense of family. Even if you are not related you are treated as if you are! There was great food and fun games. You always feel welcome when you step into their house. After everyone left we watched a movie, opened our stockings, and left. What a busy Christmas… Monday: Monday was my chill day! Let me tell you I did a good job chillin! I, for the first time, took all my Christmas presents and put them away… right away! It was great. Then I went and visited my WU at Starbucks! After that I went home and continued to chill for the rest of the day! It was great! Tuesday: This was probably one of the longest days of the entry… and yet I don’t have much to say! I woke up pretty early for being on vacation and got all ready for my mom to arrive. When she finally did we set off for Oregon, only stopping briefly at Starbucks to say goodbye to Vincent! My mom did a lot of goofy things and I saw a lot of woman mullets but this is already to long so lets fast forward to the part where we get to see my grandma…………………………………… It’s really weird to see her. She looks normal… well a bit grayer (in her skin) than what she use to be but normal non the less. She gets around alright and she’s still the sarcastic kick in the pants (yeah I said it) she always was. She is, however, not all there mentally. It’s hard to see her like this but God will have His way. Just keep her in your prayers! Wednesday: Well there hasn’t been much of today to talk about yet. We woke up bright and early (6:30) to go to my grandma’s house so my aunt to go to work. I really just rolled out of my bed, jumped in the car, rode to my grandmas, and rolled into my aunts bed… and I pretty much woke up about 30 minutes ago. So here I am writing you. See how loved you are! So the only proper thing to do is to write me some sort of comment… any comment of your choice. Merry Christmas everyone! Linz Leave a Comment ..
