You might still be searching in vain on TV for the gold-medal ceremony for Bremerton's Nathan Adrian, following the U.S. Steve Kelley | Megan Jendrick learns from not being No. You might still be searching in vain on TV for the gold-medal ceremony for Bremerton's Nathan Adrian, following the U.S. The reason: Both Silver and Adrian were "prelim" swimmers, meaning they swam only in the early heats for their event. It's a common practice for large contingents such as the U.S. So when it's all said and done, as many as eight swimmers from any relay will be in line for the event medal. The prelim swimmers deserve one, too, because they, after all, qualified the team and put it in the position to win. There's a visibility factor, as well: Prelim swims often aren't shown on TV, meaning athletes can win medals in performances few people ever see. And it's not limited to swimming. That's another interesting thing about a relay medal: Once you win one, you are forever linked to your three...

• Aug. 11, 2008 - Visitor publication 'See Orlando' gets a makeover
Sara K. See Orlando, a visitor publication that has been in the market for 41 years, is converting to a new publication called Great Florida Getaways. The new product will be aimed at Florida residents planning to take vacations within the state. The magazine is a product of Visit Florida, the state's tourism-marketing arm, and a division of Sarasota-based Miles Media Group. Great Florida Getaways will come out twice a year, in November and May, and will publish 700,000 issues annually, said Paul Winkle, a company officer. "We really saw the trend in tourism and the need for a product that was based on attracting more visitors to the Orlando area, versus moving them around once they got here," Winkle said. A new restaurant planned for Universal Orlando's upcoming Wizarding World of Harry Potter area will be designed after and named for "The Three Broomsticks," a Hogsmeade watering hole that was popular among student characters in the Harry Potter books and movies. Universal Or...
