Films remaining for release during August are those that the studios have little confidence in finding mass audiences. However, they figure that the movies will draw more fans in AUGUST than waiting until SEPTEMBER when school and football add to the mix. Looking back, the Summer season has been dominated by the record breaking box office performance of “The Dark Knight,” which in 18 days of release has already topped $400,000,000.
