The Color of Black

You see me in public,

But that is not me,

For I show you only,

What I want you to see.

In me there is only,

The black and the white,

But I paint on color,
Just for your sight.

None truly know,

What's locked deep inside.

Darkness and despair,

That I'm forced to hide.

For if I revealed,

My shadows of thoughts,

Shame placed by others,

Would bind me like knots.

Thoughts that are dark,

And blocked from the sun,

That persue me and follow,

Wherever I run.

I will never be free of,

These thoughts that consume.

That cover my life,

Like black petals are strewn.

...i thought some of this up when i was in the shower (dont ask, i just think of random things in there) i had three more stanzas but i thought they were crap so i deleted them
