The atmosphere inside the jam-packed Winter Park Civic Center Wednesday night was typical of the city's annual political mingle: Lots of campaign stickers, coolers of cold beer and baked pig aplenty. But enough about the sweating politicians. There was also Bubbalou's barbecue. Candidates roamed the room, making pitches to people who couldn't be swayed if they were standing in the middle of a Category 5 hurricane. That's because the crowd was filled with people already working on campaigns. Still, chamber of commerce events are almost as much a part of politics as corruption.
